I use a computer where I house-sit. Last time I was here, everything on the computer worked well.

Now I find that the sound does not work. Lady who owns it wants me to fix it. So far, I found that the sound drivers have been uninstalled. I discovered also that the hp printer installation disk was left in the computer. Apparently she was trying to reinstall some info off the printer disk because I also found that it is impossible to scan documents into the computer now. Are the sound drivers on the printer disk? I am told that the latest drivers can be downloaded off the web. Haven't been able to identify which ones are needed. Update: The computer is a Dell Intel (R) Pentium (R)4, CPU 2.00 GHz, 1.99 GHz 768 MB RAM. I am running MS Windows XP Pro, Version 2002 Patch 3.

My father died in 1996. I would like to have a copy of his military records. He served in three different branches during his lifetime. Since he didn't talk about his service very much, this is the only way I have to find out anything about his early life. How would I go about getting copies of his records from the various branches of service?

I am moving out of a house where I used someone else's computer. I need to download everything onto a flash drive to take it with me. I have NO idea how to do this. I don't even know where or how to plug in the flash drive. Do you have to open every single document or file to put it on the flash drive? I need step by step instructions, please. I know nothing at all about how to do this.

Suddenly I am getting all these messages that my computer is under attack. Message lists different computer addresses each time. Also there is now porn on the computer. Neither of us does that sort of thing. Since this is a shared computer which I do not own, I need to get this stuff OFF as soon as possible. Please help. Message just came up--- Network attack rejected. With a computer address. I don't know what to do.

I will be leaving my current living arrangement soon. I have been using my house mate's computer. I don't own my own computer. I need to know how to save my personal files, etc. so they can be uploaded to another computer. There are videos and music as well as documents.

I am on a shared computer. I am moving soon and need to download my folder of personal items. Since this folder includes documents, pictures, and video clips I bought the type of disc recommended for this combination of items. However, when I got home and tried to download the folder, I got the message telling me I needed to format the disc first. I am not sure whether I need to have admin. privileges to do this (I don't have them). I need step-by-step instructions. I always buy preformatted discs; but this time I got the wrong ones.

A techie friend did it for me using "safemode" but neglected to show me how he did it. If I lose another program I need to know how to do this. I can't use System Restore.
