  • Guy friend keeps breaking plans with me to be with his long-time girlfriend?

I know this guy for over a year now, we used to go to school together. We still talk by phone, aim, etc. but whenever we make plans to meet up, he breaks plans that day or the day before and says he has to be with his girlfriend.

He's been with her for over three years, and I completely respect that they are a couple. I don't intrude on their relationship, I don't give them any trouble. But whenever I make plans with him, and he's the one always begging to meet up, he flakes out on me.

Later, when he apologizes, he complains that he really would like to see me and that he's so upset he couldn't. Huh? I don't get it!

  • Was it a date? He was acting more like a friend?

This is the most confused I've been in a looooong time! I hung out with this guy a couple of times, as friends. (or so I thought) Every couple of months he would ask me if I wanted to see a movie, or stop by a bakery or something. Sometimes he would pay for me, other times he didn't. He would compliment my hair or my clothes, but would never try to kiss me or even look at me "that way."

So a few weeks ago he asked me to go to this pre-Valentine's Day party, and since I don't feel romantically toward him, I (very nicely) told him I couldn't go. I also told him I couldn't afford this weekend trip he wanted to go on bc the economy's rough.

He hasn't spoken to me since. I think he's mad at me and I don't know what I did wrong! He wasn't letting me know if he was interested or not. He was acting more like a friend than a date. Guys, girls, anyone? Help!

I was afraid to ask him right out because I might look like an idiot. I still want to be friends with him and I feel like now he wants nothing to do with me.

  • Friendship problems - Can't be myself?

We've been best friends for three years but over the last year I've found it harder to be myself around her. If I talk about something important in my life, even if it's serious, she'll listen for a little and then just switch to talking about her own life.

I tried showing her that she does this, and even telling her, but she does it anyway and it makes me not want to call/hang out with her. I feel like I have to be extra accommodating for her while she can just do whatever. She insults me, and pretends it's a joke. She complains about her life even when she knows I have it tougher. I just don't want to be around her anymore and I feel like I'm only keeping the friendship alive out of politeness. I've been growing more and more distant, but what else should I do? I've told her about the things that hurt me, and sometimes she comes through and understands. It's just tough letting go because I know she's a good person but she just doesn't seem to listen to me or care about my feelings as much as I listen/care about hers.

  • What's with dark nailpolish these days?

I see many girls wearing dark nail polish these days. What's with that? And they're not emo, they're the most valley girl type ever! Is there some sort of trend going on? If there is, does anyone know where it came from?

  • A guy is stalking me, what to do?

Now, I know this is kind of my fault, but get this. This guy adds me as a friend on facebook, and I add him because we have a mutual friend. We start talking about history and then he asks me for my aim. When we talk online, he asks me when I have classes and when I have breaks, etc. Stupid me, I tell him when and I tell him where I usually go, the library, cafeteria, etc. But I never tell him we can meet up. He never asks and I would never say yes because I barely know him. Today, though, I saw him outside the library and I avoided him. Then, he circled around the inside of the library three times before sitting down two desks away. I waited a while and then got out as quickly as I could. Now, I know he may have a hard time talking to people and making friends, etc. but this freaked me out. And he's a big guy. I don't want to get the school involved, so I figure I might as well avoid my usual hangouts for about a week, then block him online. Any suggestions?

  • Recommendations for a good webcam?

I want to buy a webcam but I don't want to spend more than 50 bucks. (Actually, I'd like it to be less than 50, but I don't want to sacrifice quality).

Basically what I'm looking for is pretty good picture quality, not too much light sensitivity, easy to use, and maybe a zoom (but not necessary.)

If you could please give me an exact model and your experience with it I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks! :D

  • A guy friend wants to kiss me at midnight, should I slip him the tongue?

On New Years one of my guy friends said he wants to give me a big kiss (bc I'm single this year). I've known him for a while (about 2 years), should I slip him the tongue to knock his socks off or will that make us feel weird afterward?
