Starting a business question - sole trader or limited company?
My Partner wants to open a business, but he is limited by what he can do, as he has an IVA. Our idea is for me to register the business in my name, and effectively employ him, though I will still be in full time employment elsewhere. Is this possible? Can it be done as a Sole trader, or will it have to be a limited company. What about tax etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I phoned HMRC this afternoon, and they suggested I needed to speak to Companies House, but I though Companies House just dealt with Limited companies?
3 AnswersCorporations7 years agoWhy is it so hard - moving?
Me and my fiance currently live with our respective parents. We have been looking for a home for ourselves since the beginning of the year. We both work full time, but aren't in any sort of position to buy or get a mortgage, so we are looking for somewhere to rent.
The majority of the rental agents we talk to don't do late appointments, or Saturday appointments, which makes it difficult for us to arrange viewings. When we do manage to arrange something, we get phone calls on the day saying the property has already gone - to someone who probably doesn't work and can get to appointments in working hours.
It came to a head though recently when a member of my extended family, also an estate agent, said that there weren't a lot of rentals coming in, and those that were were rubbish...
Why is it so difficult for two people, who want to move in together, and can pay the bills, find a place to live!!??
Rant over...
11 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoHousing association applications?
Me and my partner are looking to move in together, one of the options we might consider is housing association.
I was wondering what is involved, what we need to do to qualify, and whether anyone has any experiences of housing associations they can share.
2 AnswersRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoRecurring dream theme - please help?
Over the past few weeks, I've been having dreams where I realise it's Christmas Eve and I've not bought any Christmas presents for anyone. The circumstances each time are different, but the theme is the same.
In reality, I'm so organised I start my shopping in September and I usually have finished about 2 weeks before. The only difference this year is I have a partner, and I know we're likely to be together at the end of the year.
Can anyone tell me why I'm dreaming this, as it's starting to confuse me. Could you explain your answer, as I'm quite interested in how dream interpretation works.
Thanks

2 AnswersDream Interpretation1 decade agoWhen would be the best time to start taking folic acid?
My partner and I have decided we would like to try for a baby. When would be the best time to start taking folic acid?
Also, I took one pill of my next pack this morning, but I'm not planning to take any more, will this have an effect at all?
TIA
7 AnswersTrying to Conceive1 decade agoOMG - stretch marks!!?
I put on about 9 lbs quite quickly recently, I'm in the process of losing it again. Being happy and content has a lot to answer for!!
Luckily I haven't developed cellulite, as I go to the gym quite regular, however I have noticed stretch marks on my thighs and they are at the moment quite vivid.
Is there any non-surgical way of removing them, or reducing the appearance of them.
TIA
6 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoI need an opinion on wages...?
My partner has recently started a sales job that is heavily comission based. His basic is £100 a week, and then depending on how much he sells, his salary is topped up.
He's only been in the job 3 weeks, but sales are very slow, he's lucky to speak to one customer a day, and when he does get someone "signed up", they then fail on finance.
So pretty much he's bringing home his basic, and he's being pressured to sell more.
Where does he stand on the ground of earnings and minmum wages?

Does anyone else think putting a "smilies" option in would make things look a bit better. If they can do it in messenger, why can't we have it here?

Do you think that the voting system reflects the actual best answer, or is it better that the asker rates the answer before time runs out?
5 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoGood MP3 download sites that don't just take Mastercard?
I've had a look at a few, but the only payment they seem to accept are Mastercard, and these were recommended by friends.
Does anyone know of a (few) good music sites that accept visa card payments, and I would prefer the file format to be MP3. I would also like a wide choice of music, cos I have very varied tastes in music... something that covers mostly mainstream music, but some dating back from the 60's would be good.
Thanks!!
