Recently I was in a car accident in Michigan where I was determined to be at fault. I went through my own insurance company, since Michigan is a no-fault state, and repaired my vehicle, a 2008 Land Rover LR2. The other party decided not to go through their insurance company and risk an increase in their insurance. Thus, they decided to pay for their vehicle on their own. I was later contacted by them, asking to help pay 1/3 of the damages, roughly $1000. As I have to pay a deductible on my vehicle of $1000, it would be really costly of me to pay another thousand for their car. My question is, since the other party choose not to go through their insurance and get it fixed for free, can the other party sue me for the damages to their vehicle in Michigan? I live in michigan and the total time per week allowed for my age, 17, of school and work is 48. that amounts to 18 hours left to work after school. What happens if i pass that limit?

Is it bad to not have close friends? I don't have any close friends at all, theres a lot of people I talk to at school (11th grade) and I can regard them as my friend.I just deal with problems by myself and I honestly find kids at my school (international academy) idiots. Most of them are outcasts from their home schools who have come here in refuge. Ugh....so is it bad, or psychologically abnormal, to not have friends and still be fine like me, help?

Okay, so I've been trying to figure this out forever and I'm not getting anywhere. Here is what the directions say.

1. Begin with any positive number. Call it x. Divide x by 2. Call the result r. Now follow these directions carefully.

a) Divide x by r. Call the result q.

b) Add q and r. CAll the result s.

c) Divide s by 2. Call the result r.

d) Now go back to step a.

Repeat steps a-d until r no longer changes. What is the relationship between the original x and the final result?

I keep going into more complex and complex results with no end in sight. Also, i'm not sure which r to use after step c( the given r, or the final result r that we figured out...). My teacher told me that the relationship should be "R is the square-root of X". Can anyone show their work if you can figure this out? Thank you!

Hey guys,so I have a serious subject to talk about. My family (dad,mom,brother) came to america around 7 years ago. I am 15 at the moment and in one month to be 16...I don't know if i'll make it. This is the problem. Ever since I grew up i saw more and more conflict in my family between my mom and dad and then my brother and I with our dad. I believe he is bipolar. He can sometimes be nice but other times very abusive. If I don't do exactly what he says, or speak my opinion I get beat. We moved in a new house 4 years ago and there are big holes in the wall from where he punched it, threw stuff at it, and beat it with a stick. Yesterday I was tired of being harassed by my father and when he brought a stick out (1-2 in wide) I decided that I wasn't going to get beat anymore and I physically tried to get the stick from him. I am not skinny nor weak, pretty built but my father is strong and kinda fat so I was scared. Anyway, we got in a fight and then my brother and mom started crying. There were no punches but i have cut scraps on my arm, and bruises on my hand from when he waked me with the stick. He then went in the garage and brought an axe which at the time seemed like he was going to kill us but just hit the table with it. Then after he chilled a little said " You listen to your parents, and if they say something right or wrong, you do it".he also said, "I made you on this earth and i will take you off it". Then he left and today he called my mom and said that he's coming home tomorrow. Now my mom told me that he said that if we dare call the police he will kill us all... I don't know what to do. I'm so scared that my life might be over. Also, we are financially dependent on him... But i really don't wanna die..Any advice on what to do, please be serious.

Do you look at the charges or just the coefficients? Or are they dependent on one another?

Okay, so this is my question. About sulfate, SO4 (-2). How does it have a -2 charge when the elements, oxygen ( -2) and sulfur (-2) both add up to a -10 charge...but it's -2 ? I'd like an explanation, not just " that's the way it is", but why. Thank you for trying to make sense of this mess to me :)

Please try not to confuse me. I've been loooking at the periodic table and Sulfur isn't a transition metal and it has a charge of -2 according to the +!+2+3+4-3-2-1 thingy that shows the charge. So i'm confused how S which is negative and O which is also negative in charge give a -2 charge instead of a -8 and -10 charge....you guys get what i'm saying? Please help...

Ok, so my teacher told me to take the mass given, divide it by the molecular mass, and then multiply by avagadro's number. Finally, to obtain the Ca2+ ions to multiply by 3. I DONT GET THE LAST PART. Why would you multiply by 3? ( i see the subscript) ...IDK, please help! And thank you. Explain to me how to do it and why please.
