About 20 years ago I had pattern for a crocheted braided chain afghan-throw-blanket and can't find it. First row was a chain. Second row was double crochet. 3rd row consisted double crochets, a certain number of chains, double crochets, same number of chains, etc to the end of the row. After so many rows were finished, the chains were looped one over the other, from one end to the next (to form the braid) and tied off. The final touch was to make a tassel and put it at the end of each braid. It was quick, easy, and beautiful. I'm hoping and praying some of you have this or know where I can find it.

I can't find the August 2007 issue of Consumer Reports Magazine. If you have it, what is the best blender for crushing ice to make smooth thick frozen drinks? I know some $400 ones that do, but this issue of Consumer Reports listed the best for this. What's the brand, model number, and the approximate cost?

I'm trying to set the Standard Control panel (rather than going into the Advanced Control panel) Scanner is Microtek ScanMaker i320 (specs: 6400 dpi x 3200 dpi, 48 bit, letter) - Printer is HP Photosmart 7960 (specs: b/w 1200 dpi x 1200 dpi - color 4800dpi x 1200 dpi) - Computer is HP Media Center m470n. I've worked for 2 days, called Microtek and HP, and can't seem to find or get answers. (Just get "it depends, but your____ is not made by us so we can't answer your question). Scan Wizard 5 scans at 96 to preview, for PURPOSE(output): Do I put "Ink Jet setting of 200 dpi" OR do I put "Custom ____ (and what number do I type in the blank?). PREFERENCES: Do I put "inch" or "pixel"? The photos are super clear, so I assume for ADJUSTMENT (contrast, sharp, color, saturation) I leave that all on 0s like it is. (For ORIGINAL, I picked "Photo". For SCAN, I picked "True Color". For SCALE, I picked 100%).

Want is the best user friendly photo editing software for Windows XP Media Center -name, version, and mfg?I loaded an older version of Broderbund Print Shop (version 6 - they're now on 21) to my computer and crashed it...had to do a total destructive recovery - wiping everything out and resetting at original settings. So, I'm in the market for whatever photo edit/storage/manage or whatever I need. I've also got Click Art (1998 or 1999) from Broderbund that I'm going to trash rather than risking a crash. Need a "step above" amateur advise before I go out and don't know what to buy. Thanks

So, how do you shrink photos and save them in a smaller format on computer? Who does that and why? Also if that's done and then later you want to print it, do any resolutions, pixels, sizes, or anything need to be changed before hitting print, choosing size you want it to print, etc? Thanks

About a year ago I used a software program on some wedding photos. I added real looking stars, clouds, added a glowing effect like "heavenly", added bubbles, and turned a married couple into about 6 tiny couples forming a circle (kaleidoscope effect). (It was easy to adjust the numbers of stars, clouds, bubbles, etc. and to adjust the sizes and to move them around in the picture by dragging with a mouse. I must have gone online for a trial of some kind. I don't remember and have spent a couple of weeks trying to find out what software program does all that. Now my daughter just got married about 2 months ago and wants some photos like that and I can't remember what I used or where I got it or anything. I called Adobe, etc. and they can't tell me the actual effects their software can do.

I want to really get serious about learning photo editing software.. But I have 5 different softwares on my computer (some are free downloads and some are for a trial period). I need to get rid of some of them - so that I can focus on learning a couple and limiting my time to just those and then maybe expand from that later on. The back and forth gets confusing and I don't know enough about any of it to pick which ones should go and which ones should stay on my computer. ---- Print Shop 6.0 ---- HP Photosmart Essential 1.9 ---- Microsoft Digital Image Pro 9 ----- Microsoft Photo Editor 3.0 ---- Adobe Photo Shop 2.0 ---- Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0. I know I did a click and fix for red eyes, with Adobe (I think), and one click gave them black eyes.... I'm sure some of these are outdated and you that are experienced photo editors should be able to tell me which ones I should leave....or if they're so dated I need to buy something else? When my battery needs recharging (won't last but about half a day) and I put it in my recharger...sometimes it flickers green meaning charged and red means not charged yet... Then, sometimes it'll turn green in a couple of hours or less. Do they charge that fast? Is the battery ready to be trashed? Is the recharger ready to be trashed? Doesn't seem exactly right and if it's not...how do I find out where the problem lies.

I have a Pentax Optio 550 - it has the auto - portrait, sunset, mountain, text, etc.. Can setting adjustment be made manually? And if so, what's what? White Balance? Focusing Area? AE Metering? Sensitivity? Sharpness? Saturation? Contrast? Have I left out any? What do these mean? Each should be adjusted which way, and how much to do what? I hear about manual adjustments to improve lighting or whatever.... My camera manual doesn't tell this stuff. (and please reply in words that I can understand...don't get real technical).
