Is there a way to search for computer parts based on specific parameters (eg Processor by socket type)?
I want something a little more detailed than "type AM2 in the search box at newegg"- Perhaps a search engine or a storefront that contains semantic data on each product- For instance, for a motherboard, a list of socket type, ram type, SATA / ATA slots on the board, xUSB ports, xFirewire ports, speed of built in LAN, etc. And I'd want to be able to search for it based on "all boards with an AM2 socket type" or something similar.
1 AnswerOther - Hardware1 decade agoWhere would one find statistics on how many people use specific hardware, e.g, amd vs intel, or Ati vs Nvidia?
I work for a small gaming company, and we're trying to put together as much information as we can about our (potential) userbase. What kind of hardware rigs most users run (not just what brand, but what model, how fast, etc), as well as what OS they run on top of, would go a long way in helping us understand our target platform(s).
