2000's Weakest Era in the NBA?
i made Shaq as an example because he was the best in 2000's era with Duncan
Shaq who played 7 seasons in the 90's but only made the All NBA First Team once, no titles. in Shaq/Duncan era he made all NBA First Team 7 times. won 3 titles, 3 NBA Finals MVP and 1 NBA MVP. that was the time when Jordan and co. was either old or gone.
2000's WEAKEST ERA IN THE NBA?
Shaq's number
1994-95, 29.3 pts 11.4 rebs 2.4 blocks and still didn't make the All NBA First team.
1993-94, 29.3 pts 13.2 rebs 2.4 assts.(this massive numbers was only good enough in All NBA 3rd Team. in 2000's this would be NBA MVP.
David Robinson
1994, 29.8 pts. 10.7 rebs 3.3 blks wasn't good enough to make All NBA First Team( led the league in scoring, top 5 in shot blocking and not All NBA First Team). see how competitive the 90's was?
Hakeem Olajuwon
1990, 24.3 pts 14.0 rebs. 4.49 blks.,(led the NBA in shot blocks) this number in 2000's would be good enough to win NBA MVP but in the 90's it was only good enough in All NBA 2nd Team.
1995, 27.7 pts. 10.8 rebs 3.4 blks only good for All NBA 3rd team(in 2000 era this was good enough to win NBA MVP or All NBA First Team)
Patrick Ewing
1990-91, 26.6 pts 11.2 rebs 3.2 blks not good enough for the First Team All NBA(he made all nba 2nd team
1993-94, 24.5 pts 11.2 rebs 2.75 blks (didn't make the All NBA Team, not even the 3rd team)
Shaq's stats were good enough for the All NBA First Team
2006 Shaq's number 20 pts. 9.2 rebs 1.8 blks.
2005 Shaq's number 22.9 pts 10.4 rebs 2.3 blks
2004 Shaq's number 21.5 11.5 rebs 2.5 blks.
a lot of young people say that todays NBA is better than the past. Shaq was putting up massive numbers in the 90's than in 2000's and but he got all his accomplishments after the 90's era.
we can go on and go on and put Karl Malone's stats but he will put every power forwards in todays era in shame with his number
no disrespect but Duncan wouldn't consider the best power forward of all time if he played in the 90's. he wouldn't win any championship in the 90's. (i don't think they can beat Olajuwon and the Rockets when Jordan retired for the 1st time) his numbers wouldn't be good enough to win NBA MVP in the 90's and definitely wouldn't be an 8 time All NBA First Team. wouldn't be an 8 time Defensive First Team.
this is my point of view. thanks for looking.
17 AnswersBasketball1 decade agowhy Lebron James is such a ball hog?
i was wondering why LBJ has the ball more than 50% of the time? he has Mo Williams who is a good point guard but james still get all the assists. is he always gonna be a stat guy? why cant he let the point guards do their job? maybe they would win more games. we all know James can pass but so is Mo Williams.
