Dolley was a widow when she married James Madison. Her first husband's surname was Todd. What I am wondering about is if there was a connection, loose as it may be, by marriage between the wife of our 4th President and the wife of our 16th President. Her first husband's name was John. I've looked at some sources and could not find a familial connection between the Todds of Philadelphia and the Todds of Lexington Kentucky. Has any Todd geneologist found any connection?

When Elaine is sitting on the couch in her apartment, there is a photograph of an attractive lady, sort of reminiscent of the 50s or 60s. I always assumed the picture was of her mother, but I've never seen any identification of the lady.

I find that the image during the commercials is ok, but the programs have rectangles of green or blue, that pop up in random spots, obscuring the image. There are also rectangles of magenta dots that take up most of the screen on some shows, notably Robot Chicken and Home Movies

We've had a Domino's Pizza in Carbondale Illinois for many years now, but just this past Monday evening, I noticed that the Domino's sign had changed to a Dough Boy's Pizza sign. I searched on Yahoo and found a restaurant in the Boston area with the Dough Boy's name, and the logo on the side of the truck in the picture was the same as the sign. Is this just a local thing, or was Domino's taken over?

There is a yogurt commercial out now, where a lady is talking on the phone to a friend, and her husband is looking in the fridge. She says "Yesterday I had an apple turnover"

When I hear this, the thing that comes to mind is

Really, I've seen a horse fly.

I know there are other puns that can work like this, (I mean the apple is not turning over and the horse isn't really flying) but I can't think of any at the moment. Any suggestions?

A few years ago, a major cereal brand that had always used a rabbit to represent its product, decided to make a change. They changed some of the processed sugars to fruit sugars and began changing the various colors to fruit shapes.

They were ready to test their new product on the market, and they decided to make a change in the animal they had used in their advertising for years. They chose to go with Astro, the dog from the Jetsons.

Sadly, however, they found that the product didn't test well in the market place, proving once more that

I mean, something along the lines of the old short subjects, made for TV I suppose. The cast would be new people. We have probably three generations of guys (at least, and some girls) who consider themselves experts on the boys. I remember seeing a reasonably funny Mad TV sketch where a lady played Larry's character, so it wouldn't even have to be three guys.

In the mid seventies, while I was a student at Eastern Illinois University, our cable company in Charleston carried an Indianapolis station, Channel 4, as I remember from the commercial "Baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and Channel 4" that they had borrowed from the Chevy ad of the day.

This show was called Cowboy Bob's Corral, and had a puppet character called "Sourdough the Singing Biscuit". The human host was the guy who played Cowboy Bob, and he also did a show on Sundays called "Outdoors in Indiana".

Does anybody else remember the show and does anyone know who the guy was?

There is a scene where a bird is seeing flying away from the turret of a building. Is that bird a raven and is the building supposed to be the Tower?

Evidently there are ravens who live on the grounds of the Tower of London, and there is a legend that if the ravens ever should leave and fly away, the monarchy will fall.

I just wondered if this was placed there as a symbolic message of what is about to happen. Obviously the monarchy didn't fall, but the position of England as a Catholic kingdom did.

In the episode re-broadcast last night, Peggy sells a home to a "hipster" as Hank calls him, in Enrique's neighborhood. After learning that Enrique is going to be forced to move from his rental property, Peggy comes up with an idea to convince the "hipsters" that this is not the kind of neighborhood they want to live in. In showing all these middle class people doing middle class things, one scene shows LuAnn and Lucky pushing a stroller.

I have a question I have been unable to answer. A friend heard a version of the Londonderry Air at a funeral. This is best known to Americans as "Danny Boy", though I read an Article that quoted a publisher's response that showed at least 80 different lyrics copyrighted in the 1920s.

You know the tune, I'm sure. The lyric he quoted me begins

"At eventide, when Christ my savior calls me

My facile barque shall sail the unknown sea

from out of mansions that blest eternity"

The last line misses the meter, but this is what he recalled.

I was wondering if anyone could make out what was shouted at the State of the Union address last night. The President was talking and someone in the audience yelled out something. I think it was either "You're wrong!" or "You Rock!

Could anyone else make out what was shouted?

In this episode, Fran has found a man who seems perfect, doesn't live with his mother in a car, you know. They go to a restaurant for dinner and she tries out her new laugh with a turn, which doesn't go well. He complains about the music, and rushes up to ask if they'll play his mixed tape. The first song is "Hey big spender (spend a little time with me)", but there is another song, sung by a woman, with the words "Georgia", "California" and "sipped champagne from a shoe". I've tried lyric sites, google, all over looking for it, and I cannot find the title of the song. Any suggestions?

If you don't know, I'll still give 10 point for the best effort.
