women and engagement rings...?
OK so this seems to be more of a trend now, women are going out with their significant other and picking out their engagement rings.
Why? are they that shallow now that if a ring he picks out; that expresses himself and how he feels about you just isn't what you wanted than you'll say no...at the same time if you are picking it out what good is the surprise of him asking you to marry him, you already know it's coming you've picked out a ring already.
24 AnswersWeddings1 decade agowhat is Bernanke thinking now...?
I just read that he is asking lenders to write down their loans principle; also he believes this will make people want to pay their mortgages.
In my opinion the problem lies within the peoples ability to pay not that they don't want to pay...and he doesn't think that lowering the interest rate is doing enough even though that effects the payment; writing down the principle doesn't.
Basically he is asking them to charge off the money they would end up writing off if they foreclosed instead of foreclosing, for what to keep the housing market prices high. Which is half the reason people can't afford to buy a new home in the first place and probably part of the problem. I'm not saying the market crashing is a good thing but it can be for some people.
Does any of what he is proposing really make sense to anyone else, if so please explain...how? cause obviously I don't get it...I understand wanting to stop/slow the foreclosures but I don't see how that will do it.
2 AnswersCredit1 decade agoNew law (tax) for oil companies...your thoughts?
Apparently congress just passed a law that would tax large oil companies that would cost them about 1.8billion dollars in the first year, and this money is to be used to do research on renewable sources of energy.
Of course Bush with the oil companies in his pocket says he will veto this bill, wow what a surprise.
Others claim it singles out a specific industry...to that I ask isn't that virtually the same thing we did to big tobacco?
So what do everyone else think of this; would it be so bad to take back 1% of big oil companies profits to do such research?
18 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoAnother Q for the single ladies...?
I just read a question about guys with guts and how women felt about it. On the other end of the spectrum a few answered they didn't want a skinny guy. Now I have my own theory as to why they don't like a thin guy...but I want to know why those who said not a skinny guy. I may be skinny no doubt but I am fit too just the frame I was given to work with.
A word of advise for those who haven't tried one out yet go find yourself a tall skinny guy and then give me a good reason why not to be with them. Don't knock it till you've tried it. I've just been fortunate enough myself that I am attractive despite the popular concensus of my frame...that and I have personality and a sense of style.
So I ask what is it about the skinny guy that creates such a problems for you?
I mean seriously if the girl is a bit thicker and wants to be thinner but lets say just can't do it, wouldn't she want a thinner guy to improve the gene pool, so maybe her daughter could have those advantages of being thin
8 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoSMOKING? Why isn't it socially acceptable in the US?
Why it socially acceptable in every other country in the world to smoke but not in the US? Tobacco is a main cash crop in the US and pretty well built the economy for this country. Now everyone just wants to ban it here and ban it there, tell me I can't smoke in my car, outside, in a bar? If they had it their way in my home. WHY?
