5 AnswersOther - Soccer1 decade agoHow football reflects politics: Zidan-Matterazi incident?
You know what I turn into politics? That is a six feet tall millionaire fella who is head butting another guy for some verbal joke no one else have heard any way, knocking him down almost unconscious, and that all happens in front of crowd of people and TV cameras who broadcast it world wide. The offender has a long track record off terrorising fellow athletes with head butts, or other nasty tricks. He was sent off many, many times for nasty unsportsmanlike violent behaviour.
Yet there are big number of people are justifying that brutal assault and cheering for offender and blaming a victim even though the victim had never even touched a guy. They justify it only because the offender is member of minority group, the victim is white and somebody had spread out a rumour of "racist offence" even though no one heard it. Does not it remind some other incidents, in USA or Europe when obvious criminal managed to get away with violent behaviour just upon calling his own victim “racist”?
4 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agoDid not Zidane proved that he is in fact terrorist by nature when he violently responded on Materazzi's joke?
Rumour is that Materazzi called Zidane a terrorist (and added some more spicy language about Arabs and his sister) and then Zidane had hit him. But is not it a proof that he actually IS terrorist deep inside. I mean I am sure if I will say to any civilised person that his sister is a whore and he is terrorist he will just walk away... Or at least will answer to words by words. What Zidan did is exactly the same what all the Islamist, terrorist or other groups do when they condemn people to death or blow up someone for "insulting Islam". When Theo van Gogh was murdered in Holland for his speech it provoked t outrage among everyone about how intolerant some migrants from North Africa are, even though Theo van Gogh also used offensive language by calling all Moroccans "goatf**kers" in the TV... or take the Danish cartoon issue when Islamic terrorists threatened to kill artists for supply making fun about prophet Muhammad. Did not Zidane set a same type of example?

4 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agoIs materazzi really "ignorant"?
"It is absolutely not true, I did not call him a terrorist. I'm ignorant. I don't even know what the word means," the Italian news agency Ansa quoted Materazzi as saying after the Italian team returned to Rome.
"The whole world saw what happened on live TV," he added

Or just he has some cynical sense of humor?
16 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agoHow many French players play fro French national team?
I mean native French players not naturalised immigrants?
Don't go deep into politics please, just answer the question of ignore it ok?
3 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agoIs it true that some ultra Islamic sites are threatening Materazzi with death because of what he said?
So if someone says bad things about Islam the death might be punishment. By the way it turns out that "French" national team is 100% muslim because even Frank Ribar converted to islam because of his Moroccan wife.
Should they play in the African confederation may be?

9 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agoAnother riot in France?
Some news channels report that there was another riot yesterday in France, this time at he heart of Paris. Dissatisfied youth, mostly immigrants attacked tourists and Italian looking people after the French team lost the game. Some other (mostly right wing) media reports that groups of Islamic youth tried to use the occasion to create chaos in the city..
Can anyone tell us what really happened?
7 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agoPolitical correctness vs freedom of speech in WC final?
Some people trying to justify this French - Arab thugs actions by saying that the white guy has "insulted him". So wait a minute. Let's say I see a dirty Arab(someone who is arab and who is not clean, even though it does not mean all Arabs are unclean) and then I will say it out. Don't question my motivation, just remember that every person has a right to speak out his mind. Should I be headbutt in the cheats for it? Or people who can't hadle freedom should be isolated from civilised society?
If some North African immigrant would publicly headbutt French just because it seemed that othher guy "offended Islam" or something, no-one would accept this lame explanation and the Arab would be arrested or deported. Zidane did it with whole world watching and yet there are people out there who try to justify what he did.. I wounder how those who justify Zidane would react if some North African immigrant(or anyone elseinthat matter) will just headbut them in the street or restaurant..
1 AnswerFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agoDoes anyone has any proof that Matterazi actually insulted Zidane?
I mean could be it was all vice versa-Zidane was trying to provoce Italian with headbutt to get him booked, but hit lhim ittle harder then neccessary,or Materazii added a litlle acting..Ane the "best player of our time" got his well deserved red card.
How do you know if Italian said anything at all to him? After all Zian has along track record of acting unruly and violently(red cad in 1998, red cards in Juwentus etc)
.
9 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agoWas Zidane sent off because of his faith in Islam?
Ok could be Materazzi provocat him, but still it is a mystery how he managed to make the Zain El Din Zidane take off the masque of being "civilised" and show the whole world his real face.
So what do you think Materazzi said to this Arab to make him go so Wilde? May be something like "Prophet Mohamed was gay?"
19 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agoAre French people going to blame the loss on Zidane now?
I wonder if he will turn into villain from hero in the French history. And drama is that there is no way for him to correct anything-his carreere is over. From hero to zero in one second.
I would if people like Le Pen who already criticised this team for not having enough white non-Muslim in a squat and not representing a majority of French will also use this episode in hi propaganda as an example of hw violent all people with Arabic heritage are.
19 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agowhatever Materazzi said to Zidane is it an excuse?
Or should we simply assume that people who are born and raised in ghetto often stay in ghetto mentality even if they are given wealth and fame?
Denis Rodman or some rap musicians come in mind..
28 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agoAren't you exited?
Wow! Those ecute models who call themselves an athletes actually scored at the Germany-Portugal game.It was not 0-0, it was actually really similar to what real football should look like, unlike most of this unforchanet boring WC games.
Aren't you exited?
6 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agoWhy do French riot while celebrating the recent victories(or do they)?
According to some news reports previous French victories provoked the clashes with police in some parts of France. The interior minister Sarkozi made a special address to national urging french people "to act normally" if they team wins. What I can't figure out is why would french youth riot when their team wins?
Or there are simply some people who are fishing for some radical political gain among French fun's?
Or may be government is just exadurating?
4 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agoFor those who miss a real football...?
I mean the real game with goals, passion beautiful shoots and exiting show?
It seems like the recent shift football has taken with 0-0 or 1-0 results, defensive play and competition in penalty shoot outs or red/yellow cards satisfy some funny funs as long their country wins . And whole bussiness gets FIFA enough income. Ok, I understand, business is business and national pride is national pride. But should't we, people who remember and love REAL football, not the boring game they sold out at WC 2006 create some alternative international football association and organise football tournaments for footballers, the way it was before FIFA turned into marketing agency, football teams became an advertising companies and footballers became a top models?
FIFA can have heir mix of advertising and flag waving modeling show for people who enjoy 0-0 and penalty shoot outs while alternative FIFA muay actually restore some traditions of "beautiful game". Both party's will be satisfied.
