Its a canon rebel EOS 1000D Can you take pictures by looking through the LCD? i have the manual yes but its in my office at work and im not very camera savy. So any help would be awesome!

ok this question is going to be about as basic as it can get. its this new rap song. but all i know is somewhat of how the beat goes. in the chorus there is like consecutive clicking noises as the main beat in the chorus i know none of the words and i really honestly love this song. i just never catch it at the begging of the song. i know this sounds really dumb but this is my last resort!
