23, single and looking. i appreciate people that give honest answers. I can be cynical sometimes, joking at times, but you'll know when i'm giving my honest opinion, and when i do, it's from my REAL point of view, not just a BS story.

  • So do you ever put yourself in this position?

Ok, I'm 23, not high school stuff here don't worry.

So, is it just me, or do you find yourselves getting into situations where you KNOW there is not positive outcome? Like having a crush on someone already in a relationship, falling for someone that lives too far away to have a real relationship, stuff like that. ie, do you put yourselves, like I do, into relationship positions that you know could never actually work out? Maybe a defence mechanism, keep ourselves from being hurt?

  • How does one get back into self image?

Ok, so when i was 17 (i'm 23 now) i was ripped. totally solid. 6-packed out the door, swam 2 hours a day, weight lifted 4 times a week hard. peak physical condition, and got the ladies (body AND confidence, a deadly mix wouldn't you say?)

anyway, i'm - a lot - heavier now, (though losing weight mind you, trying to get ripped again........well not ripped, that'll take a LONG time, but skinnier) but i have this whole image of not being attractive to the opposite sex until i achieve my previous look. i had all this confidence when i was "hot" and now, it just seems the confidence is totally gone and i can't seem to get myself happy, i have this image of what I USED to look like, and can only seem to think "when i get back to looking like that, THEN the ladies will like me"............what is the cure to this problem? without paying 120 an hour, i mean.

  • She is totally blowing me off, right?

Ok, well i'm about to call it quits with this girl that i really like. We went on a couple dates, things went well. Thing is, now she won't return my calls. I called her today, she answered (first time in a week she answered her phone) and said she was in class and she would call me later. Never got the call.

So am i right in calling it quits? Or should i wait? I'm tired of this, but i often jump to conclusions too often.

  • I get so sick of the dating game!!?

I really hate how it works, ya know? I hate how you put effort into something, and while trying not to get too emotionally involved into something that's not yet exclusive, you have to maintain a level of trust with the other person so they don't think you are a flake or someone that is just using them. I mean, if you have fun, but then are "too busy" with shyte to see each other again, why would you agree to go out in the first place?? unless of course it's just a cover up, if so then why play the games? be straight up about it, either didn't have a good time or whatever. too busy is such a copout. i could have to reorganize my socks and that could be "too busy".

just me ranting, obviously having women issues. i'm waiting for this girl to call me ('cause she's busy with school and doesn't know when she's gonna have time). which i totally understand, i've been to school too. but honestly, can't you pick up a phone just to CHAT for 5 minutes and give a guy a hint that you'r into him?

  • What to do after dinner?

23 years old, going on a second date on Friday to a nice Italian restaurant overlooking a nice river. Wondering what I should do with her afterwards? I was thinking of a walk in the park, but it's WAAAAYYYY to cold for that.

  • Can a guy go from grubby, to "regular" attire to preppy and back again?

I like to dress "regular" - short sleeve tee, jeans etc, also grubby, ya know, big baggy hoody and "fat pants" and i also keep stuff in the closet for nice occasions, like nice semi-formal dinner dates, (mock neck zip up sweater over a blood-red front button long sleeve) and very formal events (downtown office meetings, etc. in a business suit). NOW.......can a guy do this without his girl being like "ok.....metro to cas. to slub"

I mean, i like a girl that can dress up nice and grub down, but does the same go for girls thinking about guys? do girls prefer a guy to be "just preppy" or "just casual"?

  • OK OK OK, so here's an easy 10 points for someone. LADIES!!?

How do you think a girl that plays hockey likes their men? rugged and ulta tough (the bad boy image), or a guy that is strong, both physically and mentally and has a nice soft side that comes out when appropriate?

  • LADIES!! Would this freak you out?

Ok, going on a second date for this lovely girl I met though a friend at work. I am taking her to a nice Italian restaurant with wonderful dishes, a "not overly romantic" atmosphere and VERY reasonable prices (12-20 a plate). Now, I like to buy nice wines with my meals, so would you, as a woman,be freaked out if a guy were to buy a $125 bottle of wine for the meal? I've spent up to 500 bucks on a nice bottle of Ice wine, so 125 isn't REALLY that expensive in the scheme of things. OOORRRR would you rather just a couple of glasses of decent wine (8 dollars a glass)?

  • Italian restaurants in Calgary??

Anyone know of any nice, reasonably priced, reservation needed (i hate waiting for a table on a friday) italian restaurants in calgary?

I'm thinking either Gnocchi's (not sure if they take reservations), or Il Sogno. I'm trying to find something like the Olive Garden (but they don't take reservations on Friday and Saturday nights).

  • Should I even phone her again?

    Ok, here's the situation.

I'm 23, took a girl on date. Called her two days after date, got answering machine. It is now AGAIN 2 days later. I am wondering if she was maybe "with" a guy I work with, who was braggin he was gonna screw her that day I called her. Should I call her again, or just say "screw it" because she might already be with another guy. I mean, I left a message, didn't just hang up when the answering machine (voicemail - cellphone) came up.

SOOOOO basically what i'm trying to ask is, girls, should i phone her again?? I mean, i left a message. Wouldn't you return a call, or would you wait to see if the boy calls a SECOND time, just to make sure he's really interested.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. God, don't you hate the whole dating game?

  • How the hell hard is it to pick up a phone, REALLY??

I mean come on, both me and my neighbor have been waiting for calls back from people, and they never call. When do you just say "oh screw it" and become so jaded that you never call people again?

  • When to phone again??

Alright I'm 23 and went on a date with this wonderfully funny and cute girl on Wednesday. I phoned her tonight to ask her out on a second date, but never got a call back tonight (it is friday, i hardly ever return calls on friday either...). So if i don't get called back, do i assume that she just doesn't want to go on a second, or should i call again in a couple days? i don't wanna seem stalkerish and be one of those people that call 50 times.

    Thoughts?

  • Should I ask for a second date?

I'm 23, and met this girl through someone from work. Went out on first date, went very well (hockey game and then a couple drinks at a well lit lounge).

Found out from someone that she is going to her friends' house to watch the World Juniors' finals tomorrow. Thing is, this guy really likes her and i overrheard him saying how he was gonna try and screw her then. I also found out that she wound up making out with him a couple months back at a pub crawl. BUT here's the thing, he's definitely not charming, witty or all that interesting, everyone I know agrees she would never actually do anything with him while she's sober. Plus he's a loser.......

anyway, i'm just wondering, what do you think? i mean, i know for a fact i hang out with people i have "done" stuff with, though would NEVER do it again, even if i was super smashed, so i want to extend the same thing to her, should i be worried? i really like her and want to ask her on a second date, but do ya think?

  • How much to spend on a new gaming computer??

Ok, so i'm into games and such, but my current computer is about to get thrown in the dump. instead of upgrading absolutely everything to be able to play the REALLY cool games, i'm buying a new computer.

I've seen these crazy high end computers for like 4 thousand bucks, now is it worth spending that much? I mean, if i spend that, will it mean I won't have to upgrade for like at least 5 years or what?
