  • Question about sitting up and crawling?

My son has just turned 6 months old. He is trying to crawl already. He LOVES being on his stomach and is always pushing up onto all 4 and rocking and it's to the point now where he is lunging himself forward. He is not even able to sit up on his own yet. He can sit up for a few seconds but then just falls over or somehow wiggles himself into the crawling position. My question is, how many of you had babies that just didn't care to sit, but wanted to be mobile? I'm worried about him not being interested in sitting up at all. Any info. would be great. Thanks!!

  • Introducing my 6 month old to the sippy cup? And sleeping during the night?

Any suggestions to introduce my son to the sippy cup. I want to make sure when he turns a year old that he has no problems going from bottle to cup. What are some things I can do now to make that transition easier? Also, my son wakes up once a night to eat. I don't think he's really hungry, I think he's just used to getting up and getting the bottle. Any tips for helping him to stay asleep? Thanks!!

  • How do I lose the rest of this baby weight?

My son will be 4 months old tomorrow and I still have 40lbs. to lose. I want to do it the safe way, but don't know where to begin? What exercises should I be doing, especially ones that will target my flabby upper arms and I need to slim down on my hips and thighs. Any info. would be awesome. I'm serious about getting into the gym, I just don't want to be wasting my time while I'm there. Also, should I workout before my son gets up in the morning, like 4:45 am or after I get home in the afternoon, like 6pm? Thanks!!!!

  • Best wrap, sling, or carrier?

My son is almost 4 months old and is about 17lbs. He is getting very heavy to carry around when he wants to be held. Which is the best, in your opinion, to carry him in? And, what brand did you use? Thanks!!

  • Introducing solids to my baby?

My son is now 4 months old. He is a healthy 16 lbs, double + some from when he was born. He's got great head control and sits up very well assisted. He has been getting 2 tbs. of rice cereal in each bottle since he was 5 weeks old, due to reflux. Lately, he's been eating 5-6 8oz. bottles daily...he always seems hungry! He's been watching my husband and I eat our dinner at night. Yesterday, I gave him 1/2 of a jar of carrots and he LOVED it. I couldn't spoon it in fast enough. My question is not whether or not to be feeding him solids yet, so please don't comment on that. My question IS, what is a good schedule to go on from here? How long do I keep him on the carrots, what food do we go to next, do I give him the bottle and then the food or vice versa....any info. will be greatly appreciated. I'm a first time mommy! Thanks!!!

  • Is 3 months old too early to cut teeth?

My son has been teething for a couple of weeks now. He was 14 weeks old on Saturday. I can see the teeth moving below his gums. I advised my daycare lady that he's was really cranky and fussy all weekend and I don't think it will be much longer before he cuts a tooth. She literally laughed at me and told me I didn't know what I was talking about. She thinks she knows my child better than I do! Anyhow, I told her that I asked the doctor if it was possible and that the doctor said it was. She then told me that the doctor probably laughed at me when we got off the phone....so, have any of your babies gotten teeth this early? She told me the white spots on his gums is from thrush, but he's had that before and it's not the same. And, the white spots are only where the middle bottom two teeth would be. Please help me prove my daycare provider wrong as I will show this to her when I pick my son up at 5. THANKS!!

  • I know to feed baby when baby is hungry, but...?

My son eats 8oz. every 3-4 hours, with one long stretch at night. He is 11 weeks old. I'm reading that most babies this age are only eating 4-5oz. Is my baby just more hungry than most, or am I over feeding? If I try to take the bottle away before the 8oz. is gone, he cries. But, when the bottle is gone because he's finished it himself, he doesn't cry. He is 12.5 lbs. and the doctor says his weight gain is fine. Has anyone had a baby who ate a lot in the early weeks like mine? Did it eventually taper off? Thanks!

  • My son is 11 weeks old and still has not gotten sick?

Now, I don't want him to get sick, let me just clarify. I consider myself lucky. But, I thought by now all babies get some sort of cold. If he has not gotten sick yet, can I expect that when he does, it will be VERY bad? Or can I assume that he will be one of the lucky ones that doesn't get sick often? I BF for the first 8 weeks and now he's formula fed (my milk stopped coming in). He also had his 8 week shots with only a mild fever after. Thanks for any info. you have!!

  • Is it ever ok to give babies just water?

I ask because I took my son to the doctors last week and this couple sitting in front of me had a newborn baby girl. I'd say she was about 2 weeks old. They fed her about 2 oz. of formula while we were sitting there and you could tell after she finished that, she was still hungry. Her mom gave her another 2 oz. of just water. I thought that was odd because I had heard that babies don't need anything but milk? I'm just curious if this is ok?? Can I give me 10 week old son just water if he's still hungry after eating an 8 oz. bottle?? Thanks!

  • I have created a monster...?

Well, Not literally! Anyhow, my 9.5 week old son gets his pacy when he's crying and I can't do anything else to sooth him. Well, at night, when he cries, he gets his pacy. It also helps him to sleep better (from what I can tell) Well, here's the thing...as soon as he falls asleep and drops it, he's crying again. So, I get up, put it back in and get back in bed....same thing over and over. I know I've done this to myself, so I don't want to hear that...I would like advice on how to a) get him to suck his thumb or b) not have to get up so many times in the night just to put it back in his mouth. Neither of us are sleeping and it's becoming frustrating. Any mom who have gone through this, I would really appreciate any tips on how to overcome getting up 50 times a night just to stick the pacy in his mouth. Thanks!

  • Convertible car seat? Which one...?

My 8 week old is soon going to outgrow his infant car seat and Babies R Us is having a great deal on car seats! Which one do you use and why? I have read plenty of reviews, but don't have the time to research every small detail. Please tell me why you bought the seat you did and what you love most about it. Thanks!!

  • Experiences on adding rice cereal to my baby's bottle?

The doctor told me that his weight gain is good and that I could add some rice cereal to his bottles. I did some research and found that it can cause allergies and the such. What have your experiences been if you did this? I know the doctor said it was ok and every baby is different, I'm just looking for comparison. My son will be 8 weeks old on Saturday.

  • What is the point of stripping membranes when there is no scientific study it has any effect?

My doctor did this to me yesterday. I am 36w6d. Then she proceeds to tell me she did it too early and it may or may not do anything! Then I'm researching it, and there's really NO proof that it works to start labor. So now, the check-up was really uncomfortable, I'm bleeding, and having cramps and still NOT moving along...why do doctor's still do this??
