Can someone explain what it means when referring to a motherboard in a PC about 12v and 5v rails and how that affects the computer PSU?

I have a pretty crappy 450W PSU but need another hard drive since my 1TB is running out of room.

Do you think my PSU can support another 1TB 7200 RPM HD?

Right now the biggest power consumer I have in my case is my GTX 460 GPU which can't even get enough power to play BFBC2 most of the time and just crashes the game.

I have a HP e9180f desktop if you are a smart Y!A user and want to look up the specs.

I know that doesn't tell you specifically how much power is being used, but hopefully it will help.

P.S. I'm not looking for 'maybe' and 'probably' answers. If you can determine with reasonable confidence whether it would work or not then by all means answer.

I have a fairly decent (maybe just okay) quad core computer capable of running most my Steam games without a problem on high settings, problem is I am running out of hard drive space. My 1TB is nearly full from the 600+ Gb of games stored on it.

Now, since I have a crappy 450W PSU and I am pretty sure my packed mid tower can't fit another 3.5 inch hard drive, I am considering an external hard drive tower to run my games from. My computer only supports USB 2.0 connections and has pretty standard everything hookups on the back (ethernet, firewire I think, etc.).

So . . .

Is it a good idea to run games from an external tower like this, and if so what is the best tower to get for this purpose?

I'm trying to get the Holiday Survivor achievement for Bunch of Heroes on Steam, but since it's near impossible alone I need to do it with somebody online. Unfortunately most the people online are fackheads and leave the game by wave 3.

I've been looking at the Cyborg R.A.T. 9, but what would you recommend?

I have fairly large hands for most mice as I'm 6 feet 4 inches and so the many adjustable options of the RAT 9 are appealing. I also want something with a plenty of buttons and extreme accuracy which it also has.

Should I go with the RAT 5 for the price difference? And do you know if the batteries in the RAT 9 would make it worth it?

What are some other equivalent alternatives to the Cyborg series?

Like with Cataclysm and all the other expansions? Will it cost real money?

I'm in the process of putting together a gaming PC on a budget. I'd like to stay at about $1000, but deciding on a GPU is proving harder than I thought.

In my current PC I have 1 Nvidia GeForce GTS250 1024mb and wanted to get two more for the new system so I can run 3-way SLI. However the 250 is a little older (and cheaper) which is making me think that upgrading, even at a cost, may be better.

So . . .

Would 3 GTS250 cards be better than one higher end card or even two? Or should I spring for a couple of SLI or Croxfire cards with better specifications?

And do you have any recommendations for a card under about $250.

Will all these parts work together for a gaming PC build?

I have two computers, both HP brands and both pavilion elites with built in wireless adapters. I am trying to connect the two to the internet using a belkin router, but when I do, one of the computers always says that the "wireless network connection does not have a valid I.P. configuration". Usually if one computer connects to the internet first, then the other does not and will display the invalid I.P. configuration message.

I don't even know what this means, and I certainly do not have a clue how to fix it. It's a real pain in the butt, and for whatever reason the internet connection is sketchy at best, and I will have to occasionally turn off the internet and turn it back on to reestablish a connection.

Sooooo, how do I fix the I.P. thing?

I have a 130mm Orion telescope with a 10mm and a 25mm lens. I also have a double magnification lens. The telescope is supposed to see to at least the rings of Saturn. At best I've gotten the moon and some craters. Yay.

Are these lenses good enough to see Saturn, or even Mars, and if not what lenses do I need to do so?
