I'm having trouble understanding how to use the word "it" in certain sentences in German. For example, in my workbook there are these sentences:

Ingrid bestellt einen Kaffee. Die Kellnerin bringt ihn.

Der Kellner bringt das Bier. Frank trinkt es.

Der Jogurt kostet €1,29. Ich finde ihn zu teuer.

So as you can see in the sentences the word "it" = either es or ihn. I dont get the difference between the two! Can someone help me understand this please? Thanks.

Im 19 years old and I have had floaters in both eyes for about one year now. I have been to my optometrist several times about the issue but she says there is nothing that they can do and I just have to live with it. They said that I would eventually notice and forget they were there, but I haven't. I feel like I have so many, and because im at university I always have assignments and am constantly on my laptop, which seems to make the floaters worse.

I would just also like to say that I am NOT seeing flashes of light, and never have, so I do not have a retinal tear.

Even though I may seem young for floaters, my optometrist said that because my vision is so bad (I think im like +7.5 in one eye and +6.5 in the other) thats the reason why Im getting them.

Anyway, my question is is there ANYTHING I can do to make them go away?? They are literally driving me up the wall. Is it possible they will eventually go away? I know you can get them lasered, but I really dont want to do that because Ive heard that its not very safe, and I dont want to screw my eyes up anymore than they already are :/

PLEASSSEE someone help me, I dont think I can seriously live with this the rest of my life =(.

Ok so basically I won a bid today on Ebay (I was purchasing a electronic keyboard) and I have already paid for it through Paypal. I just checked my emails just then and I got a message from the seller which said:

"I am really sorry to ask but I have talked to my partner about the price that the keyboard has sold for and he doesn't think that it is enough. Would you mind if I give you a refund?I am very sorry for the inconvenience seeing as you seemed to be very excited about the sale."

Are they like, allowed to do that? I mean, can I technically refuse their refund and ask that they send the keyboard to me? Because I thought the purpose of Ebay was that once something has finally been bid on that you cant just randomly tell the winning bid that it wasnt the amount of money they wanted?

So yeah.. what should I do? Should I just accept the refund? Cos I really needed that keyboard :/

Ok, so Ive been recently sending off my applications to places to get a causal job, and today I sent off an application on seek.com for a receptionist job. About 3 hours later, I missed a call. The only problem is that it was an 'Unknown number' and im worried that it was a potential employer. I was wondering if it could be regarding the receptionist job? Or it could have been another employer, im not sure. Cos im pretty sure it would be, since I dont have friends that ever call me on my mobile.

Anyway what i want to ask is will they ring me back?? I would ring up the place and asked if they tried to call but I dont want to end up looking like an idiot if they actually didnt :/

Hmm ok, I have naturally auburn hair, and for a while now ive been dying it various shades of red.. but hair colour ALWAYS washes out. Even permanent colours!! After like, 2 or 3 weeks it just completely washes out! :O

How do I fix this? Is the only way to properly dye my hair is to bleach it first?? I dont want to do that.. it might ruin my hair :[

But ive done some research about it and everywhere I look people say the pain is UNBEARABLE, like its one of the most painful piercings you can get. AND that it gets infected reeaalll easy.

Is this all true? I'm starting to think maybe its not worth it.. =(

Also, I should add my hands are somewhat small and I think I'd feel most comfortable with a bass with a small neck.

Also, in regards to the Ibanez Mikro, does anyone have any experience with these? How small exactly is it? Like, is it so small that an 18 year old would look ridiculous playing it? :/

Ok, so the other day I went out to the shops and saw Marilyn Manson's Guns God and Government DVD which I've been after for a while. It was second hand and was only $17 so I thought why not. So I purchased it, took it home and put it at the top of my wardrobe and sort of forgot about it.

The other night, I was sitting on my floor doing homework (I was actually listening to Marilyn Manson while I was working) when I happened to glance over at my wardrobe which the door was slightly ajar.

I saw a girl standing there, and she didnt look happy at all. I cant describe her expression, she looked like in pain, or insane. I dont know.. it makes me sick to think about it.

Also, yesterday I was sitting on my bed and the door opened by itself; I knew it was her. I also heard some things falling down from the top shelf as well.

Anyway, I've been scared to even look in my wardrobe and wont open it anymore. Ive been getting my mum to check it at night before I go to bed. :S

So yes.. I was thinking about it yesterday when I realised that my MM DVD is in there, and this has only happened since I put it in there.

So my question is... is there any way I can purify this DVD and get rid of the spirit with maybe holy water, rock salt, incense, sage sticks??? I have no idea, ive only ever purified rooms, not objects.

Please just dont say get rid of it. I want to keep it, and also even if I get rid of it the spirit could stay.

I really want to play bass, purely because I love the sound and everything about it. But I was wondering, would there be any point to learning it if I wasnt in a band? Like, is this considered weird if someone plays bass just by themselves as an interest?

Ok, im going to try and state this as simply as possible.

Basically all my life, in my head i would constantly make up people and different scenarios constantly, like sort of day dreaming about me been in my own sort of world where I control what happens?

Sorry.. that sounded kinda weird. What im trying to say is I guess is that for as long as i can remember i havent particulary liked my life (probably due to reasons I dont want to discuss right now) and I sort of created this kind of fantasy life as my escape, i guess.

Anyway.. for a while I somewhat grew out of it, but lately ive found ive been doing it again.. that is making up friends in my head, etc.etc.

BUT.. umm. ok. i dont know how to explain this.

So basically lately ive been doing this again, but this fantasy world ive created is extremely vivid. Like, ive made up people right, but ive actually started talking to them in like real life?

Sorry.. I sound kinda schizo :S... Like I know theyre not real, i dont LITERALLY hear them talk back to me, only in my mind.

But yeah.. lately ive been like walking around the house talking to my 'imaginary friends' i guess and my family keeps catching me out doing it.. i think they may think ive gone nuts..

So yeah.. sorry this is very long. BUT what I need to know is: have i gone insane? im freaking talking to people sitting beside me that dont even exist!!!

Like, I know people wait till the very last few minutes to bid, but why do they do this if one can use the automatic bidder that does it for you??

Ok so I went to the Big Day Out festival yesterday and I was like at the front barrier right in front of the amp for at least 4 or 5 hours. Im worried why is hasnt gone away yet.. like its been over 24 hours since I was there.

Have I permanently damaged my ears? =( And when will it stop? Its really annoying, esp. when its silent and I go to bed I have to lie there with the stupid ringing.

Also its not as bad as yesterday night.. so it may be getting better. But still.. its still there and im worried..

AND if I have supposely permanantly damaged my hearing.. like will it be REALLY bad?? Will i notice it? Ive never been to like a concert before where ive been next to the amp.

Btw please no one lecture me on the use of ear plugs. I forgot to take them cos i was in a rush but after this experience i will definately never forget them again.

If a person tells their psychologist that they cut themselves, are they then obliged to tell someone (eg. parents) about it? This person would be over 18 & not suicidal btw.

Lately my rosin has been starting to crack and today I found it this morning and it was all cracked into like 3 pieces. Why did it do this? Theres been a bit of a heatwave lately and its be like 30 something degrees everyday, and it only started to crack when it started. Could this be the problem? If it is can I like put it in the fridge or something? lol

Or it it just cracking cos its cheap? It came with my violin but i dont actually know how much it was.

Also, if i use it on my bow will it damage it at all??
