With a line of .277, 342, and 1331, Ron Santo was more than worthy of HOF induction. He tried for 15 years and always came up short. On the fifteenth year, he passed away. This season he's been elected to the Hall of Fame. Moral of the story: Persistence - even after death, you can still succeed.
