Anyone offended about all the questions about breastfeeding in public?
I know this is a very touchy issue. I can't think of one topic on this board that is more controversial than how we feed our children. Every time I read comments about how women should cover up while breastfeeding in public I get so upset because these comments make me feel uncomfortable when I am out and trying to feed a fussy, tired baby who doesn't want to stay still.
I also recently overheard a mother say that she felt embarrassed formula feeding her baby in public because she felt people would think she didn't try to breastfeed or she wasn't trying to do what's best for her baby.
Do you think we should be trying to be a bit more compassionate with each other and less judgemental about what other people are doing?

I work part-time (every other weekend). This year I've been scheduled to work both Christmas and New Year's. I'm mad - but it's a new job and I don't want to rock the boat. I know under Ontario employment law you can refuse to work a holiday if it doesn't fall on a day you would be regularly scheduled to work.

The hospital I work at is part of ONA. Is it true, do I really not have to work? (My union rep isn't very helpful).
How does it work where you work?
1 AnswerOther - Health1 decade agoCan I keep my daughter rear-facing?
My daughter is 16 months old, almost 22 pounds and 32 inches tall. Her car seat (sunshine radian) is approved for rear facing up to 32 inches.
However, the seat is approved forward facing up to a height of 51 inches.
I've heard the rule that you can keep your child rear facing as long as there is one inch of "shell" above their head. My daughter's head is nowhere near the top of the shell so why does the seat need to be turned around at 32 inches?
This same seat is sold in the USA without the height limit for rear facing. I also have a Britax Roundabout and I have the same problem. It says I have to turn her forward facing a 30 inches but the very same seat sold in the states can be used until 40 inches.
Thanks for your help.

3 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoHelp me, I'm addicted to yahoo answers!!?
I keep reading all these questions instead of getting some much needed sleep. I want to delete my profile but I need to keep the e-mail address. Is there anyway to do this?
Maybe, if everyone who reads this reports this question they might ban me?
5 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoDoes anyone have the ergo baby carrier?
My daughter is almost 16 months old. I want to be able to carry her easily on my back. I have a wrap that I use sometimes but I find it difficult to get her into it by myself (on my back anyway).
Right now she is sick and wants to be held all the time and sometimes when she's feeling fussy it just helps to hold her. I'd like to get things done while carrying her but it's harder when she's in the front or on my hip.
Has anyone used both the ergo and a wrap and which do you think was better?
Is the ergo worth the price?
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoIs this possible, I need to nurse to get to sleep?
I know a lot of people worry about babies who need to nurse to sleep but I think I need to.
I am a breastfeeding, bed-sharing Mommy and ever since my daughter was born if I needed a nap or when I went to bed at night I would sleep with her and nurse her.
She's 15 months old now and I have gone back to work part-time. Sometimes I have to work nights and I find if I try to sleep before a shift I can't.
I know the oxytocin is suppose to help you relax and sleep but do you think I've created a sleep association for myself?
It's not really a problem, I just think it's funny. Anyone else with the same experience?
1 AnswerNewborn & Baby1 decade agoDid anyone have a pelvic separation?
During my pregnancy I had a pelvic separation and it was sometimes very painful. (When it started I couldn't even stand up.) It was excruciatingly painful during labour and after the delivery the pain continued. It slowly got better and better but it has now been 14 months and it still hurts sometimes - especially when I lie on my side.
Has anyone experienced this? When did the pain completely go away, and if you had more children, did this happen again in the subsequent pregnancies?
Thanks for your help!
