I am a type of person who supports ALL TYPES of ACTUAL LOVE. Not sex, but actual love. I stand up for the LGBTQ community and fight for our rights--yes, I'm a lesbian. Don't approve? Give me your reasons in the most detailed and appropriate way possible and I'll counter your argument.

  • Career in women's health?

Id like to do something with providing birth control to women. I also like to educate my friends at school (I'm 17) about safe sex, but I don't like presenting at all.

I was thinking of a clinical sexologist but I'm not sure where or how to get there. Sometimes the idea of working at a clinic scares me because I've heard of clinic bombings and terrorist attacks at Planned Parenthood.

I'm not really sure what to do. I don't really wanna be a pharmacist--I heard it's a lot of work and student debt in that.

    Physician assistant, maybe?

  • Lump underneath the skin under left breast?

I'm 17 and I have this lump that s more like its inside of my skin than outside. When you look at my skin, you can t see the lump unless you touch it. It also hurts when I press it. It s small and I kinda ignored it for months thinking it was a pimple. But it hasn t disappeared. I use this solution that s some sort or pore remover on the lump so it doesn t grow and it works.

I used the solution one night and the lump kinda faded but came back the day after that. So I m continuing to use it so it won t grow.

Anyone know what s going on?

  • What kind of visa do I need to stay in Japan for one year?

I'm from texas, USA. I'm 16 right now and I want to live in Japan for one year once I finish college. I'm also saving up for Japan so it won't be such a hassle getting all the money later.

    I'm Vietnamese-American.

I want to live in Japan just to get a feel of the country and culture. I want to stay there with a partner and study Japanese independently while I travel around Japan. I do not want to attend any language school in Japan. As for work, I want to be able to depend on my savings if I can.

I've looked up long term resident visa but I think I'm not eligible for it. Which visa should I apply for?

  • Secret relationship in high school?

I'm a 16 year old girl. In my family I'm not allowed to date until I'm finished with college. But in sophomore year I started dating this hoess romantic guy and it's been going pretty well for our first time. we've been dating for 6 months so far.

At the same time I hangout with him everyday after school and 1-2 times a week during summer. Everyone at school knows we're dating and also his entire family. My mom has her suspicions about us since we hangout so much and I deny it every time it comes up. My dad definitely won't accept me dating at this age. My parents are pretty traditional and so they want me to meet someone of their religion and race.

The hard part is my bf is Mexican and I'm Asian. Sadly, my dad isn't very fond of Mexicans (he has his reasons).

And sometimes my bf and I want to tell my parents about our relationship to make things easier, but it just might make it worse.

But I get frustrated every time I "hangout" with my bf, my little sis wants to tag along! Which means we can't kiss or do any PDA. I have no better excuse tho..

I feel a lot of pressure trying to keep this a secret..

    Any suggestions?

  • Why do I feel so insecure around guys? (serious question)?

I'm 15 years old and ever since i was little, i had small quarrels with boys at school, I beat up a boy when i was in 6th grade because he pissed me off like A LOT.

Now, don't jump to conclusions. I DO have male friends, but very few. When I was in middle school, about 5 guys would bully me in just two years. All at different times. I had to go to the counselor several times to get them to stop messing with me. And a lot of times, guys just love to piss me off! They even tell me that pissing me off is FUNNY! What the heck!?

None of my female friends are like this at all...

I'm no "man-hater" okay? I don't understand why teenage boys like to flirt with me either.. Really.. it's all so annoying!

And because of all these horrible experiences, I don't feel comfortable around guys..

Doesn't anyone get where I'm coming from??

  • Any book/manga related careers out there?

I want to move to Japan and work there. I'm in high school. I would like to know if there's any other job out there than being a mangaka or a bookshop owner or even a book editor. I'd just like to know if there are more options out there for me that I am actually able to get into.

Originally, I really liked the idea of becoming a mangaka, but I know that's quite near impossible.

However I still would like to do something that's possibly anime/manga or book related in Japan.

    Thanks!

  • Finding a travel buddy in high school?

I'm 15 years old and I'm about to be 16 in November, which means I'm about to be a sophomore in high school.

I'm kind of bored with my life and I don't have many friends to talk to during summer, so I want to make new ones! Someone who likes different cultures and is willing to go out somewhere in this world.

I also want to travel the world once I am done with college too. I want to see the world--just not by myself, so I thought I'd be a smart idea to create some meaningful friendships while I'm young and hopefully see the world with them later on.

I've been trying to find even one person in my high school but no one seems up for it so that's kind of a bore..

I want a travel buddy who's about my age (no more than a year older than I am) and LGBT friendly ;P

    Any advice?

  • Moving and living in Japan?

Hello! So I'll be graduating high school in 2017, and i want to move to Japan after I get a degree in translating. I've been interested in Japan since I was in 6th grade and I'm still working on improving my writing skills as well as Japanese (I self teach myself).

And so I would like to know from the people who've lived/currently are living in Japan for some time:

-what city is the closest to Tokyo that's foreign-friendly?

-since I want to avoid excessive earthquakes and tsunami, is there any city with minimum earthquakes?

-which city do foreigners mostly live in?

-how can I visit the country before deciding to permanently move there?

-if you're a foreigner living in Japan, what was it like to first move to Japan?

Also, it's my dream to travel the world and does anyone have any idea how to find a travel buddy? I'm in high school so it's hard to find anyone that has the same goals and ambitions that I do. I'm thinking of waiting until I enter in a university to see if I can find anyone like me. Do you have any advice? ^-^) ありがとうございます。

  • Becoming a translator without speaking the language?

I am learning Japanese by teaching myself the language. I'm only a freshman in high school and I'm also brushing up on my English as well.

I want to live in Japan later on and become a translator.

Since I want to live in Japan, I know I'll have to speak Japanese anyway.

But my main question is, can I learn a language without having to speak it very often?

So if I live in Japan as a translator, would it be possible if I learn french, for example, and only work with the written language?

I'm a pretty shy person and I prefer to communicate through words and text.

  • Language learning methods: translator VS interpreter?

Hello. I'm 15 years old and I want to become a freelance translator. I'm currently teaching myself Japanese but I'm not sure if my method is effective.

From what I've heard, some interpreters learn languages most effectively by reading transcripts and listening to audio and podcasts and Skype with people across the globe. Most of them DON'T study grammar but just rely on the large amount of exposure they get from the language.

But because I want to be a translator, should I be studying grammar? (I'm a sucker for grammar books. Buy them when I can.) Reading extensively? I don't read very much nor do I write because I'm so busy with school. And when I do write, how am I supposed to know what I've written is correctly written?

If you have any tips for becoming a translator or resources please help me out! Thanks!

  • Becoming a manga translator?

I'm 15 and from the USA. I've been exposed to manga when I was little, and it was the first book I've ever picked up. I'm trying to self teach myself Japanese right now and I'm interested in languages in general and want to do translating as a career.

Since I really like manga and want to translate, is it required for me to live in Japan to translate manga from Japanese to English (my native language)?

Will this one career support my housing and necessities?

If I wanted to live in Paris, would I still be able to be a manga translator?

    Thanks!
