  • Why are concert tickets so expensive these days?

The Rolling Stones just announced a tour and the ticket prices (at retail) are set to be about $200-$600 a ticket. When did this happen? It's just insane. I did some research and the average Stones ticket in 1994 cost $50 (with inflation that's $75 today), a Grateful Dead ticket from the same year was $30. However that same year the Eagles "Hell Freezes Over Tour" was the first tour to have any tickets cost over $100. So far it it seems that the Eagles pushing the boundaries that far in 1994 was perhaps the beginning of the avalanche of increasing prices. But now it's just insane. I'll admit, I've payed over $100 for tickets only twice, but they were both on stubhub, and I'm not referring to resale. I just don't think that tickets when initially sold at their original retail value should ever break $100, and especially not $600, it's just a kick in the nuts to any normal human being who makes less than $600 a week.

P.S please don't say "just don't go" that's not the point, I wouldn't go, I'm just trying to figure out how ticket prices increased at such a high rate between the 90's and now and how they stayes very reasonable from the 40's through the 80's.

  • Who thinks Spotify Commercials are the most annoying thing ever?

Anyone else? I mean, I get it, it's free. But half of them revolve around horrible music they're trying to promote and the other half is spotify trying to literally guilt and push you into paying for premium for the sole reason of not having to listen to them speak. My most hated ones would be the one where the guy says "Piracy is so old fashion".... Well I prefer old fashion things, so what you're saying is piracy is good?..... and second would be the one where the girl seems to never stop talking and at the end when it's finally over she says "So sign up, you have nothing to lose......"pause".......""pause"..........But the ads...

Haha, anyone else feel the same way? What's your most hated spotify ad?

  • Why is all of the music on Billboards top 100 horrible and unlistenable?

I just don't understand what's happened, when is this going to turn around. I understand that it SHOULDN'T matter but the unfortunate truth is that the majority of society is lazy about finding music and just takes what the radio and billboard dish out to them. I feel like whatever billboard and radio stations (and most radio stations across the US are owned by clear channel, a business owned by a former CAR SALESMAN) play and promote is whatever the majority of people end up listening to (because of the unfortunate laziness of looking for art). I feel like if radio stations and billboard just promoted and played actual GOOD music then the industry would start thriving again. I just don't understand why it's on such a speedy decline.

  • Are The Beatles, AC/DC, Zeppelin, One Direction, Bieber, and Nickelback the only bands anyone knows on here?!?

Seriously, this is is absolutely mind boggling. These artists are the center of 90% of the conversation on here. I've seen maybe 10 of 10,000 answers mention good music. Does ANYONE on Yahoo Answers listen to good music? Or at least know that other bands besides the ones I mentioned exist?

  • Advice for moving to Portland, OR without a job or home lined up.?

Hi, in April I will be leaving my home in Michigan and embarking on a 2 month excursion across the many cities and national parks of the western united states. During this time I will be without a home or job and the trip will end in Portland, Oregon the last week of June. I plan to have $5,000 left when I reach my destination of Portland. Any advice on securing an apartment once I'm there? Remember I will have no job lined up (I'm going to need a residence before I go looking for a job) and I have absolutely no credit other than a positive rental history of about 2 years at one apartment. I'm not as worried about securing a job as I am an apartment, as I see many of them have high demands for credit checks, employment verification, min. salary, etc. (all of which will be nothing for me). Any advice would be most helpful, thank you!
