Should I quit my current job to go to school?
Should I go to massage therapy school? It has been a dream of mine for at least 10 yrs. I live with my parents, and they don't think I should. I have an eight year old daughter. I am currently working as an admin asst for decent pay with medical ins. That is their greatest concern, health insurance for my daughter and I. I'm pretty sure I could work part time. School hours are 9-1pm Monday through Thursday. I have a friend who owns a salon and is waiting for me to get out of school since her current massage therapy is moving into the medical field. I am fully aware that I would have to make enough to pay my current bills and make sure to get health insurance for at least my daughter. I am concerned about the loans I would incur, which would be about $6,000 and I'd have to start paying it off 6 months after finishing school. Has anyone else done this and had success? Does anyone know if you can get medicaid if you are going to school and working only part time?
