I'm dating a girl who is currently facing a FELONY charge of assault on public servant with bodily injury. It's a case of a good person doing something very stupid.

Trying to make this as succinct as possible. She had too much to drink on a girls night out and caused a scene at her apartment complex at 2 AM and someone next door called 911. A zealous female police responded to the call. The lady officer is claiming that when she showed up that my girl became upset and charged up to the officer and started fighting her. A witness has made a sworn statement that my girl never charged her but just was very upset and intoxicated but never a threat other than just yelling and cursing at the police to mind her own business. Yes, she was drunk and stupid but the witness said that she was leaving the scene when the officer ran up and pushed her into a wall and knocked to the ground when my girl had her back turned to walk back to her apartment to sleep it off. She was arrested and booked on assault to public servant with bodily injury, a 3rd degree felony in Texas.

She is quiet, sweet person who clearly had too much to drink and made a scene but now faces very serious consequences. She had no priors, works and goes to school part time and overall a good citizen. There was obviously a scuffle but feel like the officer escalated it just as the girl was about to go home anyways. I'm worried that since she is indigent and has a public defender that she will be railroaded and that she might be doing time with a 3rd degree felony charge (2 years in jail AT LEAST).

Has someone been charged with this? If so, did you take a plea bargain to avoid a trial and if so, then what the lesser charge? I understand that she needs to talk to her defense lawyer but just want to see what has happened to other people in this situation.

I've been trying to sculpt the back more. I can't seem to get those back wings ( I think the technical term is lower lateral, not sure). I don't have any machines just straight up free weights and bench. Right now, they're kinda there but not as much as I like. Any advice?

I hope it is...or at least its current incarnation. I used to love the rap and hip hop but it has been on a HUGE downslide since maybe 2000ish. Rappers have gotten increasingly annoying. There are some exceptions of course but now these past 2 years, I just shake my head at the complete c rap that's come out.

I'm going there on business in a few weeks. Is it basically an "office park" type of town or is there some bars (maybe clubs) that are worth checking out. I've never been to the Phoenix area so any advice would be appreciated.

I like to know if there's any girl out there on TV, music, or movies that you think is so hot but hasn't really blown up in the major media as a celebrity. A sexy girl who has flown under the radar. It could a local weather girl, an actress, a news reporter, VJ,singer etc. It just has to be someone who is hot, female, and not so famous.

A good example would be Johanna Gomez who used to be a personality on the cable channel Mun2. She was sooooo beautiful but I never saw her doing anything else other than a couple of shows on the little known cable channel.

I used to love both of them back in the early to mid 90s but now I'm pretty much annoyed by what both have become. Classic "Simpsons" was simply the best written comedy ever!!! I would watch every epidsode and rewatch every old epidsode in syndication b/c there was so much humor crammed into each epidsode. The show was incredibly fresh for so long. Now, it's simply one of the most annoying shows on TV. I actually sat down to watch an epidsode from this season and didn't even chuckle once!! THIS IS THE SIMPSONS!! One of the best but now it's like a totally different series...totally jumped the shark YEARS AGO!!

Then you got rap music. The scene was something different back in the day. Of course, it reflected the struggle in the streets but it also didn't seem so proud to be ghetto for ghetto sake. It's hard to describe what I mean exactly. For example, look at Public Enemy's stuff...classic and timeless. Compare that to some of the annoying c r ap that's out there where everyone is talking about how they're ready to get drunk and fight in the club. I know there was gangsta stuff back in the day but even that was better quality back in the day. Geto Boys is a good example..."My Mind is Playing Tricks on Me" Basically, back then, the ghetto was rough and the music reflected that more than just glorify it like today.

Right now, I'm in the beginning phases of starting a small business. I want to know how many entreprenuers think a mission statement is very important to their success. I have a bachelors degree in Finance from a respected school so we did discuss them but I still remain unconvinced of the mission statements importance. I already made one for my business in like 10 minutes. Personally, I find people who really highly value mission statements as yesmen (or yeswomen) who are probably happier in the corporate world anyways. What's your take?

I plan to watch the NFL playoffs which by the way are usually better games than the overhyped Super Bowl. I'm tired of hearing John Mellencamp singing "This is ooooour Counntry" at every timeout. Hey GM, try making cars people actually want to drive instead spending millions on ad campaigns for gas guzzling trucks.What about that creepy little girl saying enigmatically saying "it's the mirrors". Why not talk about how awesome this TV is instead of some box with a light emanating from it and an elephant for no reason? I don't recall who makes that TV anyways. NFL games have got to be one of the most commercialized time slots in TV. Sorry about the rant...I'm bored I guess.

Regardless of where you stand on the Iraq war, do you think 21,000 more troops constitutes the term "surge". I was thinking at least 75,000 if not 100,000. I supported the idea of going in and killing Saddam now let's get out and let Iraqis fight for Iraq's future. If Bush wanted a "surge" then he should of asked for 75k or more arriving overnight ready for killing anyone who made a move. That's how you end a stalemate war!!!

Some guy posted a wierd question earlier in this section about "where is the 51st state?" but it did get me thinking....

Does anyone want a 51st state? If so, which one will it be? Or even, do you think there will be a 51st state within, umm let's say 50 years. Traditionally, Americans have always favored expansion but these days, I'm not so sure.

Possible candidates for new states...Puerto Rico, DC, Guam, or how about existing states divided up, Northern Cali? Southern Florida? etc.

I don't want to brag but I got alot going for me. I'm 27, got a great financial analyst job, bout to start my masters, trying to close on a house. I consider myself a decent looking guy except for my hair. I still work out so I fit into my college clothes from 5 years ago but can't do much about my hair. It's thinning on top and graying on the sides...I'M FREAKING 27!!! Not sure if it's from stress hectic life or what but I feel it's a lost cause. Ladies (not girls), would you go out with someone who has thinning gray hair at 27! I tried growing it out but it made me look so old with the gray pushing out. I don't want to dye my hair. I'm just wondering who any great catch of a girl go out with someone with old man hair like mine.

My brother's friend has a dad who has had brief bouts of strange behavior ever since he retired. He doesn't act strange most of the time (90% of the time if I had to quantify) but then he does things that make no sense that really stand out. For example, he locked himself in the bathroom b/c he said he thinks some people were stalking him. He stayed in there for hours then just came out and took a nap. He also becoming a packrat and just goes to garage sales and buys alot of junk for no reason. I'm not a psychologist but this sounds like a case of schizophernia.

I'm an independent voter with no real party loyalty but do any Republicans get excited at the thought that some Senator Brownback is running for President? I'm assuming he's trying to catch Repub primary voters who are conservative and right of McCain & Guiliani. Are conservative Republicans think they got their guy in Brownback? Just wondering b/c I never heard of the guy til this week.
