  • What is causing my daughters' ear infections?

I have 2 little girls, ages 2 and 5 months. The two year old has had cronic ear infections and fluid on the ear. However, they are rarely painful or symptomatic. We usually find out about them during a routine check-up. Now, my 50-month old has one!

My question is this: I breastfed my 1st for a year, and I breastfeed the baby. I often breastfeed while lying down. I have been assured that this doesn't cause ear infections (though drinking a bottle while lying down DOES), but I am at a loss to find another explanation. No one smokes, and the kids are otherwise healthy. One thing to note: I was prone to ear and throat infections as a child. Does that matter?

Has anyone else ever had this problem?

  • Honest Answer - Your Body After a C-Section?

I have the option to undergo a C-Section to deliver my baby. I have a 2-year-old who was delivered vaginally (with an epidural).

I know all the risks and considerations, save for one: I would like an honest answer from women who have had a C (or who have had BOTH vag and C-section), what can I expect of my body afterward? I exercise regularly. Is that something I will be able to keep up (after I have healed, of course) and will it drastically change the results or effects? This is sincerely not an issue of vanity, but I would like to know what I can expect from someone who has experience. Thank you!

  • Should I get a pet frog for my science classroom?

I am an elementary science lab instructor, and I would like to have a pet that is reasonably easy to care for and WONT DIE. I have already had a chameleon, whcih kicked the bucket after about 2 weeks! I did not realize that our heat gets turned off at night and the poor guy got too cold! If I got a frog, which kind should I get? I am wanting to keep it in a 10 gallon terrarium. Do I need a heat light or rock (it gets down to about 65 degrees in here at night)? Should I get more than one? I guess, what I really need to know is if anyone has a type of frog they really like, or suggestions on what kind to get; I could get a book to learn the rest. Thanks for any suggestions!

  • Does a guinea pig need a room mate?

My neice got a pet guinea pig (female) for a pet a couple of days ago. It is only about 5 or 6 weeks old, just weaned. She is shy and a little scared, which is to be expected. But we've heard a lot about guinea pigs needing constant interaction, either form its owner, or from the company of another guinea pig. Should we get the guinea pig a room mate? If we should, we want to get one SOON so they will get used to eachother quickly, rather than wait and have them fight. Anyone have a single guinea pig? Anyone have more than one? What's your advice? And when will this guinea pig relax and be friendly?

  • Dry Skin, Dry Scalp...any remedies?

I live in Oklahoma, and winter is especially dry. My poor skin, especially my scalp, is so dry and flaky! Not pretty! My stylist said not to use a dandruff shampoo b/c it's not dandruff, and it will make it worse. She suggeted applying my hair conditioner directly to the scalp. That leaves me with limp, greasy hair!!! I'm getting totally frustrated. Anyone have any other suggestions? Also, any favorite lotions for my skin? NOTE: I am pregnant, so I can't use anything with retinol, or vitamin A, and I don't want to take anything internally that is questionable.

  • What happened to LOST last week 11-15?

PLEASE DO NOT RUIN IT FOR ME...however, I have been Tivo-ing LOST for about the last 6 episodes, because I tutor some of my students on Wednesday nights. I noticed that on 11-15, an episode did not get recorded. I have watched all my Tivo'd episodes except for Wed Nov. 8th. Was that the season finale? And have they been running over on time, or something, because the recording totally stops with a couple of minutes of show left?! Oooooooh, that just makes me crazy!!!!!
