  • I need some advice from other triathletes...?

    after every race (I am only doing sprints so far) I am completely wiped out for about a week. I typically get sick (cold or flu) within a few days of completing a race. I always go all out during the race and put everything a have into each discipline. How can I help to keep my body healthy post race? I don't really have a pre-race nutrition plan, and during the race I usually stick with water or gatorade for hydration, and those sports gels for extra calories and carbs. After the race, I usually get together with family/friends for a celebritory dinner (usually a steakhouse) and come Monday morning, I'm just feeling horribly run down. What should I be doing/changing?
