My in-bulit bluetooth adapter wouldn't load. No sign of it, though I have reinstalled the driver just in case to see! Any troubleshooting steps? Vista says it can't find any bluetooth adapter!

I am using Norton IS 2008, and its add-on pack does not have ad and pop-up blocker. It was quite handy in 2007 version. Is there an ad/pop-up blocker that is as good as Norton's?

I have used almost all certified privacy and internet track cleaners such PC Tools Privacy Guardian and Privacy Eraser Pro but after a certain days of usage, the explorer frequently crashes, system restore failures and stuff. I have got an expert friend, a developer in fact, who told me not use such tools but use only the maintenance tools provided by Windows. When I don't use them, the system is very good indeed. Could anyone explain if using such tools are really harmful? Any reasons?

Am running Vista and I just uninstalled Norton IS 2007 as I bought recently Norton IS 2008. But after the installation of Norton 2008, I keep getting security center alert that my protection update is not up-to-date, but in truth it is not so? It had happened to my friend also not long ago? Can anyone explain and suggest a remedy?

Symantec recognises the error but that does not solve my problem. My virus protection updates wouldn't install at all but other updates pose no problems. It prompts an error message saying"LU1846: This update was aborted during its post install processing". I was asked to uncheck all other updates and install Norton virus updates first but it has not worked. My live update engine is up-to-date. Uninstall and reinstall? That is a very cumbersome, complicated and slow process, as far as I know. Any help forthcoming please?

The complusion to use IE in the Vista enviornment is beginning to be exasperating. In a word, I don't like IE at all. I am thinking of using Mozilla Firefox. What are the implications if there are any? I know I can't use it for windows update but that is one among the many other issues. Mozilla is safer than IE and that's the main reason why I want to switch over to Mozilla. Can I go ahead with it? what are the general compatibility issues that may arise out of it? Is Firefox stable on the Vista platform? Also does Norton IS support Firefox as much as does IE?

I am thinking of buying Registry Mechanic 7 from PC Tools as it is one of the best tools that there is but it provides only a basic support for Vista(that's what they say). Is there is a tool that has been deveolped to support Vista at all? A tool that is safe to use? Also reliable? What about Windows One Care online beta scanner from Microsoft itself? I need a final word here. Can anybody help me please? Registry Mechanic does not provide system restore option for Vista, that's another worry. I have a choice between Registry Mechanic 7 and One Care online Scanner. Can anyone guide me here?

Guys, I have checked Dell support about these issues of abrupt power failure(the system goes of suddenly prompting windows showdown errors) and it these issues stand unresolved. I am a novice. Can anyone troubleshoot please?

Is it not a security risk to leave it excluded from auto protect and manual scanning? Can anyone answer, please?

During registration, I was asked to enter my phone no with area code but when it entered, it said invailid phone no. Obviously I tried combinations but no use. Is the registration region specific? Am living Madras, India. Help please!
