Todd Pailin, a private citizen, refuses to honor a subpoena to testify to the Alaskan investigation in Troopergate? Can he do that? Doesn't he have a legal obligation, not to mention, a moral obligation to testify?

Has anyone asked Sarah Palin if she is a patriotic American why can the anti-American extremists at the Alaska Independence Party always depend on her to speak at their conventions? All of those people who were so outraged about Obama not wearing a flag pin, where is your outrage now? Here she is speaking to them several months ago:

McCain seems to be dangling this idea in front of people that we would suddenly become energy independent if we started drilling all over the place. But if that were so, how come we haven't been doing it all through the Bush years, especially when he had a Republican congress for 6 years? I've heard that the benefits would be minimal, that the oil would just go into the international market anyway, and that it wouldn't get going for another 5 or 10 years. What are the facts on this?

In his speech last night, the draft dodging slimebag currently occupying the White House said that if McCain could stand up to the Hanoi Hilton, he can stand up to the "angry left." The whole convention floor of old slobs started cheering themselves purple. These GOPers have no respect for democracy and pluralism, and they are a disgrace to the constitution.

For Sarah Palin I go for "the Beverly Hillbillies" : the lost episode where dirty old man bank president Mr. Drysdale makes Elly Mae his Vice just so he can corner her in the vault. Very entertaining, and instructive, too.

The questions about who is the real mother of Sarah Palin's infant are based on some very strange circumstances. And the questions began long before she was named as McCain's running mate. Her water broke when she was about to make a speech in Texas. She made the speech, flew back to Alaska, bypassed the larger hospitals in the state capital and went all the way to Wassila to have the baby? She hadn't announced the pregnancy until she was seven months pregnant, and didn't look very pregnant, meanwhile her daughter Bristol had disappeared from public view. And now, look at the Mat-su Regional Hospital website with the babies that were born on that day in the hospital. Where's Trig Palin?

At first I thought all the speculation was just the usual mud-slinging, but now I am not so sure. And don't say that it's impossible, since Bristol is five months pregnant. How do you know that Bristol is five months pregnant? Who's to stop Bristol from having a "premature" baby after 7 or 8 months, (the same as Sarah Palin did 8 months after marrying Todd)?

I guess he thinks that the vice president should be a foxy trophy wife like the one he always has propped behind him whenever he makes speeches. Never mind that oops, she may actually have to take over the presidency some day if he gets sick. Does he plan on actually discussing policy with her and showing her the ropes? Doesn't he have better things to do if he is president? And don't Americans deserve a vice president that is "ready on day one"?

It's not as if Sarah Palin could have been hiding for nine months while being governor and then suddenly pop up with a newborn baby. Didn't people see her when she was pregnant? So how come people say that the baby really belongs to her daughter Bristol?

She wants creationism taught in the schools. Does this mean that she doesn't believe in evolution? Wouldn't it be just a wee bit embarrassing if this frontier mama ended up in the White House? Don't forget, it's not just a question of McCain living or dying, but also if he is incapacitated by an illness, she would take over.

I know she had no control over her father's actions, but the way she calls herself an only child and has written this family completely out of her bio is spooky, especially since they live right there in Phoenix. I wonder what the rest of this story is.

It seems that there are an awful lot of foaming at the mouth McCain supporters tapping at their computers at any time day or night. And I am not talking about intelligent conservatives but just plain jerks. Is the McCain campaign paying wackos in double wides to blanket cyberspace with his praise? Has anyone else noticed this?

Flustered and sputtering, McCain couldn't speak in depth about anything, just burping out prepared answers for every question. He has no insights to give about his own morality, or his own beliefs. He could only tell old stories about when he was in 'Nam and how he's going to drill for oil everywhere and go after Al Qaeda even in the U.S. (whatever that means). Obama showed his sincerity and his intelligence with every answer. I think he gained some real support in that auditorium, do you think he will gain support elsewhere?

Everything seems to be going smooth as clockwork in the U.S.: the economy, a couple of wars here and there, foreclosures and bankruptcies. So Georgie can take a well earned break and attend the Olympics on foreign soil (the first U.S. president to do so, as I understand). In fact, things must have been going perfectly for his entire two terms in office, considering that he has been able to spend more time on vacation than any other president. Let's put in another one just like him! Let's vote for McCain!

With so many people on vacation, and college students away from their campus (where some of them would be voting), and other people home from work, do you think that the summertime polls are less predictive of the election? Or maybe they are more accurate?

McCain supporters seem to think that if we see more McCain in the media, that will make us vote for him: like McCain offering his wife for a naked beauty pageant at the bikers rally, and saying that Pelosi and Obama were absent for votes, when he has been absent more than anyone else. Maybe we should get more coverage of McCain saying "Czechoslovakia" and calling reporters "you little jerks," and calling for 500 new nuclear power plants and making fun of inflating tires to the correct pressure. Yeah, sure, that really ought to get people voting for him. NOT. If anyone is benefiting from the lack of coverage of this pathetic geezer, it is John McCain himself.

Does anybody seriously believe that there is a communist threat to the U.S.? There's hardly a communist country left on the whole planet, maybe North Korea and Cuba (China is communist in name only). All of the other communist economies have totally collapsed, hardly making them a very appealing alternative to anybody but a zombie. So why are people still writing about the communist threat when there are kids today who probably don't even remember what communism is?

All you people that whine that the media is all pro-Obama and oh-so-mean to poor little McCain, explain to me why they would be pushing this scenario on the flimsiest of proof, a point up or down on this or that state poll?

The media would ridicule their own mother if it will sell. That's the bottom line.

He gets a great salary, yet nobody ever sees him actually doing anything. Where is now? On vacation? AGAIN?

Is it because people think it is adorable to see an old man get confused about where Iraq (the country he bases his whole campaign on) is located on the map, who thinks that Czechoslovakia is a country? Do they cry, "Awwww, how cute," when he snaps at journalists and calls them little jerks, and do they want to pat him on the head when he whines about the media spending too much time on his rival? Does this mean he is going to act more and more like a senile old bat and thus win the election out of sympathy?
