  • What are the essential components of a school age public library program?

With the limitations of having an audience of K to 5th grade (wide range of ability and learning levels), how do you create a program that will be interesting and hands-on interactive? Usually programs last for 1 hr min. and 1 1/2 hrs. max.

  • Best techniques for teaching knit / crochet to 4th - 8th graders?

I'm able to knit and crochet, but I'm left handed and I've been told I don't have proper technique for holding the needles / hook and yarn. I'm able to make my projects turn out okay, but soon I'm supposed to teach a knit / crochet class at the library and I doubt my ability to teach kids properly. Any ideas? I plan to have diagrams and written directions too for those who might need a second way of looking at it. (The class wasn't my idea, but the original teacher recently quit.)

  • Ideas for multi-age, multi-grade, one classroom Sunday school?

I attend a small (less than 100 members) non-denominational Christian church. I help once a month with the Sunday school program. The lady who organized the curriculum and united all the teachers has recently left. Any ideas on good curriculum and/or other ideas when you're working with anyone from 3 years up to 5th grade in one room at the same time? There's no consistent behaviors and/or discipline policies between volunteer teachers. There aren't many resources and no copier on site. Thanks. I appreciate all suggestions.
