Is there a way to put number before label when inserting caption? Like this --

and not:

figure 1

Maybe there are some caption reference plugins suited for this purpose?

Autoclaving water solutions?

Is it possible to sterilize various salt solutions by autoclaving? If so, does the container can be closed?

If the container is left open during autoclaving, will the salt concentration change?

And finally - can Duran blue cap bottles can be used for this purpose?

PS: I am a humble chemist:) Did not join for steam explosions.

Which term is more correct?

I cannot open my .rtf file. I was editing it in Word and put in a really huge picture (.jpg). I couldn't save it properly nor open afterwards.

I have two series plotted out on XY scatter chart and I want to get an average line. But -- my series doesn't have the same value points for X axis (and Y axis) -- so I cannot use a simple average of two data cells. Also the graphs are more or less linear.

What is the chance to be hit by lightning while standing in a thunderstorm? Are open field more dangerous than, say, parks?

I installed a program. Then I realized the installation settings are wrong (I think it also had troubles with installation itself) and tried to uninstall:

1) Add/remove programs (tried a couple of times but after an hour or so it still was not finished)

2) System Restore (didn't work)

3) also I can't delete it completely from Program Files

and after all this the program is still working

the computer in question is my new laptop and this was one of the first programs installed.

Any suggestions?

I need a definition of D-values /in particle size measurement/. Do they have a unit of measurement? What kind?

The D-values I am talking about look like this: d50 or d10 (and NOT d(1;0) or d(4;3))
