trig identities problem.?
Hi,
I'm stuck on a couple of trig identities problems. Can anyone help?
Tan^2x - cot^2 = (sec x - cosec x)(sec x + cosec x)
And
Tan^2A = sin^2A/1-sin^2A
1 AnswerHomework Help7 years agoDo you need an internet connect to get the most out of a Macbook Pro?
I know someone who is considering purchasing a Macbook Pro purely for watching films and perhaps the odd office work. She has no internet connection and probably no plans to anytime soon.
Do you need internet to really make the extra cost of a max worthwhile, or is it still usable completely offline?

2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoJVC stereo stopped working?
I tried to fit my JVC KD441 into my new focus (2001). Got all the wiring looms I needed, including the one for the steering wheel controls. Plugged it in, turned on and it worked fine. I Turned it off and pushed it into its slot in the console, and its has stopped working. Won't turn on at all now. No power lights, nothing.
The fuse on the stereo has not blown, and all the looks and adaptors appear to be fine. Also the old stereo works fine.
What could be the problem? Have I just blown the JVC unit?
2 AnswersCar Audio9 years agoDo I get a Diesel or Petrol car?
I am after a new car for next year, It will be my first own car(Been using parents car up to now) so it can't be too expensive to run.
I am looking at a 2003 ish Fiesta or possibly a Yaris, Something fairly sensible. Something up to £2000. My question is, is it worth going for a diesel over a petrol, also considering that the tax is £135 cheaper a year with a diesel.
I can pick up a 1.4 diesel for about £1500 - £2000, pretty much the same price as the petrol equivalent.
Also, I drive about 30miles a day, sometimes more.
Thanks
11 AnswersBuying & Selling10 years agoVW Polo won't/Struggles to start after stopping from a short drive?
I have a 2001 Polo Classic 1.4. It has started to develop a bit of a problem where it will struggle to start after going for a short drive.
If I drive for 2 minutes to the petrol station and top up, as I try to start the car again, it will take a good minute to get the car going. It turns over, but doesn't start unless I keep turning over. This is starting to happen a lot more now.
Any idea what could be causing this?
Thanks :)

13 AnswersPolls & Surveys10 years agoProblems installing windows again?
We have a rather old Emachines 170 computer that im trying to breathe some life in by re installing a fresh copy window 7 or XP.
First problem I found was that the DVD drive won't read that DVD RW disc that I have Windows 7 on, so I tried booting an installation from a USB drive but the Bios didn't seem to support that(although I'm quite sure I managed to boot Ubunutu Live from a usb once, So maybe it does?).
So I took the DVD burner drive that I have in another computer and plugged it in so I could read the disc to boot from it. This did nothing, and the Bios didn't seem to detect it, although it did flash and make noises. But It didn't boot from the drive, with both XP and Windows 7 Discs. I tried tweaking the boot order, but ' cd drive' was at that top, followed by removable media or 'Floppy drive' and then the hard drive.
So I plugged the original DVD drive back in and now it won't detect that. It doesn't help that that old Phoenix Bios is so basic that I can't seem to do much.
Now I have very old slow XP computer that doesn't seem to think it has any Optical drives, even in windows, And I can't seem to be able to re install windows.
What do I do now?

Bearing in mind I know nothing about programming or writing languages. Is it the sort of thing that takes a few weeks to learn the basics of, or are we talking months? What is the sort of time scale on learning?

I have been through 5 jazz leads and 2 Indie leads, but because the type of music, as soon as I start playing my fast Pentatonic metal licks, the guitar lead just starts to smoulder slowly.
What is the best cable for Heavy metal, the kind that will be fine with louder faster riffs?
