What you think of this for a band name?
I'm thinking of calling my band The Beetles. Do you think this is a good name?
7 AnswersRock and Pop9 years agoWhy does no one ever ask the obvious question...?
.....which is why are Rock and Pop in the same section? It's the question people dare not ask, he elephant in the room if you like. Hasn't anyone ever wondered this?
9 AnswersRock and Pop10 years agoWhat do you think of my band name?
I think it's quite good ...it's The Beatles. As in like beetles but with a "beat" instead. Do you think this would be a good name for my band?
6 AnswersRock and Pop10 years agoDid any of The Jacksons have any successful solo records?
I know they were a hugely successful act but did any of them - Jermaine,Randy,Michael,Tito, Dave etc - have any successful solo records?
3 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoIs this the most embarrassing moment in the history of rock?
The answer is of course "yes" - unless you can find a more toecurling, cringeworthy moment of course.
8 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoCould Lady GaGa learn pick up some new ideas from this man?
Costume ideas I mean. Cheap but eyecatching.
4 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoThin Lizzy - Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak?
According to the classic rock song "Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak / Somewhere in this town". But the question is where? Can you suggest where in the town Thin Lizzy might look if they want to prevent/assist the jailbreak?
8 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoSting: are these his most pretentious lyrics...?
....or has he done worse than this? (It may be possible)
"Its no use, he sees her
He starts to shake and cough
Just like the old man in
That book by nabakov "
Not just pretentious in an "I've read books by people with long names, you know" kind of way but also a really desperate attempt to make the words rhyme. But this is Sting - I think he has form for this sort of thing. Has he done worse? Give me examples
3 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoHave you got any ideas for my band?
I'm forming a band. Do you have any good ideas for a band name? What genre should we play? What should we write songs about? Any ideas for song titles? Also what would be a good name for our first album? And the cover art..?
4 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoDoes anybody hear remember Megadeth?
You never seem to hear anything about them these days
12 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoHave you ever seen someone who was clearly at the wrong gig?
Years ago when goth band the Sisters Of Mercy had put out a couple of singles with a bit more of a rock sound / production I went to see them live. Of course 99% of the audience were dressed in black, with backcombed hair etc, 0.9% were wearing full wedding dresses (!), and 0.01 (ie the bloke in front me ) was an old school rock / metal fan! He was disgusted when he realised there was a drum machine instead of a drummer, looked disgruntled all the way through, kept muttering "I thought this was supposed to be rock music", and only applauded two songs (More and Under The Gun).
Have you ever witnessed any similar "fishes out of water" at gigs?
5 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoWhy was Robert Plant prone to making those sort of grunting, howling noises...?
...Did the reason for this finally become clear in 1983 when he produced a Big Log?
7 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoSex Pistols - Great Rock & Troll Swindle Part 2?
There seems to be a division of opinion on this site - were the Pistols the epitomy of punk, or a fake, manufactured puppet band? Lets hear the case for and against the Pistols, the more you back up your argument with the better!
2 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoShould this band have kept their original name?
There's an underground Clash/SLF type punk band from Dublin called the Dubtones. That's an ok name in my book but nothing special. However a mate who knows them reliably informs me that at one point they were going to be called CHICKENS IN SUSPENDERS! Now that's a band name. Should they have kept it? Any other original, abandoned band names you particularly like?
4 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoClash fans - have you ever maybe thought Sandinista! was too short...?
...if so are you pleased to hear that their 36 track triple album is due to be re-released soon...WITH EXTRA TRACKS???!!!!!!
BQ - and why would Y/A suggest that this question is best to go in "sport/football"?
2 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoAre the Stone Roses and Guns & Roses the same band?
Not literally of course (but I would be interested to hear of any evidence you have that this ma be the case) but consider the facts - Both have Roses in the name; both became prominent in the late 80s; both took a very long time to release an album resulting almost inevitably in an underwhelming response when it did arive; both have attempted to carry on without key members; both had disastrous headling slots at major UK festivals. The Stone Roses next move was to split up. Is the end of Guns & Roses just around the corner?
4 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoHow many songs have the Fall released?

2 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoHow many songs have the Fall released?

1 AnswerRock and Pop1 decade agoIf Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd are two of the biggest bands ever...?
...which they are, obviously - hugely popular to this day - then why are some of their fans bothered by the fact that one or two people like me don't like them? What difference is it going to make to Robert Plant or Roger Waters bank balance or whatever?
