  • I have had the flue for 2 weeks and now my groin hurts?

The 10. December I got the flue. Had a week with high temperatures, muscle aches etc. The fever went down quite a bit and is now only a bit more than normal. I got antibiotics cause I often develop pneumonia when I have the flue or a cold. Not this time luckily, but none the less, I'm totally beat. It took me two days to put the ornaments on the Christmas tree, and I sleep like 15 hours straight every night. My head hurts, my ears hurt, my mouth hurt (got an infection beneath a tooth on top of all this - is treated with yet another anti biotica and is almost gone) and now all of a sudden, there's a pain in my groin. Only in one side. On the very top of my left thigh. I can't see anything abnormal, but it makes it difficult to walk or even lay in bed. Is this normal with the flue? I haven't been sick like this for about 20 years, so I have no idea. Please help. What should I do?

  • Just twisted my knee?

I was playing football (soccer) with my teen daughter and her friends this afternoon. Great fun, but at one point I kicked the ball, full speed, while one of the girls kicked it from the other side too. Which basically means that the ball didn't move an inch and my knee kind of turned inwards. It hurt really bad and I had to quit playing and go RICE my knee. The pain has subsided and now it's just a bit throbbing. The calf and food however is "sleeping". I can walk fine again but the knee is pretty swollen. I know there's a million things that can be damaged in a

knee, but my question is "has anyone tried this and how did you treat it??"

  • This seriously can't be true?

My 15 year old daughter came home from School, claiming it's possible to break a bone if you put raw potatoes on both sides of the bone and leave them for the night and then hit the bone with a spoon. Apparantly one of her classmates broke her wrist that way. I claim it's a myth and to prove it, I told her I would sleep with potatoes tonight and hit my arm with a spoon in the morning. But... What if it's actually true? I have absolutely no intention of breaking a bone and I would feel so stupid if it actually happened. So guys, please tell me I'm right and it's just a myth :-)

  • My arm hurts like h***?

Perhaps someone knows what this could be. I woke up this morning because my arm hurts so bad. I have no idea why. It starts right above the elbow and goes all the way down to the fingers. I haven't been in any accidents or hurt it or twisted it. The pain just suddenly occured during the night. It kind of feels like those growing pains that most of us experienced while growing up. But I am 37 years old now :-) I've had tendonitis in my wrist but it doesn't feel like that at all. It'a more a constant dump pain that makes my arm totally weak. Does anyone have an idea about what I can do? All medical treatments are free in my country so I can go to the doctor, but if someone in here knows how to treat it myself, I would rather do that :-)

    Thank you.
