Has anyone written a novel about the breakup of the various states of the USA into smaller countries?
I am aware of certain thought that would indicate the future of North America is in dividing itself into more manageable nation-states, on the order of the various smaller nations of Europe. Certainly, California could function well as an independent nation. Hawaii, Texas and Alaska likely could as well. Certainly the NE coastal states would function well as an independent nation. I see no reason the "old South" without Texas couldn't function very well being the new confederacy.
While these ideas are out there, I have never read a decently thought out presentation or "plan" for such a division of the USA, and Canada and perhaps portions of Mexico. I do not personally subscribe to these ideas at this time. However, as a point of discussion, these ideas are interesting. If anyone knows of such a study having been commissioned or even a novel, I'd love to hear about it.
Thank you very much.
2 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoMicrosoft WORD won't recognize Outlook Exp. Wants to take me to MSN. We don't have MSN email! Help!
I believe that this issue started when we installed a new Charter Cable security update about 6 weeks ago. Charter won't help us. They refer us to Micro Soft. Said it is Microsoft's software, nothing to do with Charter.
We seldom attach anything from WORD to email. It is generally easier to cut and paste if we want do attach something. Now we want to attach a document and when we tell Outlook Expresse to attach something from WORD, the document ends up trying to attach itself to MSN email, which we don't use. Can't figure why this might happen. Any ideas? We are really very weak in understanding the details of these things, so please try to give me pretty clear and basic info. Thanks a lot. This is really frustrating!
1 AnswerMSN1 decade agoHas the story been written with Russia developing N.Amer from W to E in 1800's instead of Brits from E to W?
I would love to read someone's immaginative story of the settlement of North America with the Russians moving from their west coast colonies into the North American continent, the Spanish from their California colonies, eastword. Can you imagine the different world we would be living in had the Brits and French not been so powerful as to control North America in the 1700's?
It would surprise me if no one has written this story. I just can't find it. I love historical novels with a fantasy twist. This would be a great one.
So... Who wrote this story?
