  • Cervix position (TMI)?

Hi. I've just recently started TTC and have just started charting my CM and cervix position. I had a 40day cycle last cycle and although I had many early pg symptoms AF came in the form of two days of spotting (generally only something when i wiped) and (TMI sorry) it was brown with red clots. It was stop start for a bit. I've had some major cramps since 4dpo last cycle that are still continuing now.

This cycle (now on day 8) my cervix has been high the whole time and is now almost completely out of reach, gotten soft and is closed. Every website I have read has said that by this point it should be low and kind of medium, only moving up and open around ovulation.

Has anyone else had a very high cervix this early? Should I be worried that it doesn't match what my cycle is doing?

Any help much appreciated. Please no rude comments.

    Many Thanks

  • Unexplained dysarthria and dystonia. Help, please!?

Hi, I posted this in the other section, too, I was just thinking maybe it would get more notice on this page?

This is a long one but I'll try and shorten it. I live in a country town where doctors are scarce and rarely speak english and I'm beginning to wander if they're doing all the right things. Long story in bullet point.

    * Honeymoon in Thailand Feb-March for 2 weeks. Ate in safe and recommended places only but for one night (we ate in a little thai kitchen but hubby at the same food as me)

    * Following day (1.5weeks into holiday) I'm lightheaded, stiff neck, nauseas, and I stay inside. About 2pm I begin to feel my body twitch and my tongue feels heavy. By 230pm I have little control over the jerking in my arms and I can't talk at all (dysarthria)

    * Rush to hospital. CT and chest scan clear. Dr suggests an EEG but can't do it before we fly out.

    * Land in Australia and get rushed to hospital hours after landing as symptoms become worse. I lose strength in my left hand and foot but regain it by morning. No MRI machine, but bloods are taken and I'm sent home.

It's now a week since then and they're having problems getting me to the city for a scan (public health system). My symptoms get worse, then suddenly better and back again. The past two days the stiffness in my neck is back, I've had huge bouts of nausea, have been vomiting, and worse still today I lost the strength in my legs and collapsed. An hour later I was fine.

In all of this I have seen one neuro who said it was stress. I have (well had) nothing to be stressed over. In fact, life hadn't been so good.

Recently got all my blood results back. I'm above normal in protien (liver function test) and copper. Also my CRP levels were noted as high (double the upper scale of average). Each elevation has notes such as 'high level noted, could be from trauma, infection or malignancy' etc. but the dr didn't say anything was wrong, nor has he ordered more tests to investigate further.

It also says the blood tests should be redone 2 weeks after the first symptoms to totally rule out any tropical diseases etc. That two week date was yesterday.

I know it's impossible to diagnose someone online and I'm not asking for a diagnoses, but I'm quite confused and would love to know if you or anyone you know has had similar symptoms? (Migraines, sensitivity to light, exhaustion, nausea, dystonia, dysarthria, weakness, stiff nec.) Would love some insight to what this could be and what I should ask the doctor for. It seems I will have to demand that they investigate this properly rather than sit by and wait for them to get their act together.

If you read all of this thank you and thank you in advance for your theories/answers.

  • My 2.5yo switches personality...?

My daughter is a beautiful little girl and I love her to death but she's really trying and I'm beginning to think that something could be wrong?

She will chuck a tantrum over seemingly nothing. The wrong show's on TV, I said no, I said yes, I smiled, I sat on the couch next to her and not on the other one, or vice versa. Sometimes I have no clue as to why she's suddenly on the floor screaming.

She'll go from screaming blue murder to stopping INSTANTLY and then smiling and being all cuddly and kissy.

Lately she's also been very defiant when it comes to bed time and fights for hours before falling asleep. I've tried keeping her up later, but for some reason she woke up earlier than she normally does. I'm going to experiment with that more but at the moment it doesn't seem to be working.

She also constantly defies me. I have done all the tricks: Getting down to her level and explaining why she can't do things like jump on the couch. I give her three warnings, we do time out, we've done smack. Some days we've done all of these countless times and she'll still come straight out of the naughty corner and do it again!

I've tried tiring her out at parks, running around, dancing, stimulation with toys, reading etc etc. Nothing seems to be working with getting her to sleep, helping her behavior and I'm worried that this switching from happy to pure outrage so quickly is not normal.

She has a healthy diet of cereals, fruits, calcium filled snacks and she only drinks water and milk, no fruit juices or sugar filled drinks. No fruit (natural sugars) after a certain time of day. EVERY food trick i can think of. It still doesn't work.

Does any of this sound normal or abnormal for her age?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Feels like something's stuck in my throat?

I've been awfully sick over the last couple of weeks.

I had a miscarriage and 4 days later came down with a terrible cold (i think from stress)

It was like nothing i've ever had though and i spent the first 4 days of the flu sleeping or in the shower with a migraine and vomiting. My body ached, my nose, ears, eyes were all sore.

It's now a week since i've had the cold and the last couple of days i felt like something is stuck in my throat. My glands are sore and my left one especially feels like it's swollen. Nothing I do will get rid of this 'lump in my throat feeling'. It's now crept into my chest (feels like i'm trying to swallow a sword) and my throat is starting to feel constricted and sore.

I intend to go to the doctor on Monday however the doctors here aren't all that great (country town) and I was hoping that someone has had something similar and could tell me what it was or what I should request the doctor to look for?

    Thanks in advance

  • Miscarriage, how long does it go on for?

I just got confirmation today that i'm miscarrying. I have passed the sac already, i held it on my fingertip last night (5w 4d)

I have had cramps for almost 48 hrs now and had stronger labor type pains, as well as very light spot bleeding with medium sized clots for over 24hrs.

I can feel my stomach contracting every 15-30 minutes and it does it on and off for about five minutes. It's not as bad as it was yesterday however even top grade painkillers aren't making it much better.

Also shouldn't the bleeding be a little stronger by now? My last MC i gushed, had pain for about 3hrs then just had light cramping for 2days and bleeding.

This one seems to be taking an awful long time and i am so exhausted! I feel like I did when i was in labor with my daughter for 30hrs.

Anyone else have something similar? Is there a point that I should become worried if it doesn't progress any faster?

    Thanks in advance x

  • I'm pretty sure I'm miscarrying, please help!?

I'm 29 and nearly 6w pregnant. Yesterday i saw a streak of blood in my mucus when i wiped. I've heard of implantation bleeding etc. so didn't stress. I had big cramps but thought nothing of it until at 10pm i had a spot of brown blood and an hour later, what I can only describe as labour type pains, started. I had a shower and while washing myself down there had a small bit of blood and a white bit of fibrous tissue land on my finger.

Pain has been on and off for over 24hrs now and the bleeding has gone brighter but is still extremely light! Only when i wipe do i get something.

I MC'd a while ago and it was VERY different to this! I had some cramps then a few hours of labour type pain, a HUGE gush of blood and bits, then it all settled down.

I'm seeing the doctor and getting an ultrasound at 130 to check.

I guess my questions is, if you have MC'd what was it like? Did you have pain for a long time? A gush of blood ever? did you actually see a baby/embryo? And what can i expect from here on?

I just feel like it's not progressing fast enough. Over 24hrs with cramps and 12hrs with labor pains is getting too much for me :(

    Thanks in advance ladies xo

  • Mother nature's a pain. What's your story?

So i've been having symptoms for a while and in my previous question talked about a fading positive. I'm about 5w3d and just KNOW that i am pregnant despite the BFN's i have received (i got BFN's until 6weeks with my first)

This morning i wiped to find a pinkish brown smidge, so went to gp. He's ordered a scan for Thursday, however for the last 4hours i have had major cramps, like labor pains, and been sick (spewing).

I'm now spotting and have a feeling I'm miscarrying. I'm sad but not devastated.I know it's the body's natural way to make sure baby is healthy. I passed a small white bit that looked like a bit of cotton/skin. I'm not sure if this proves my theory at all but thought i'd put it in there.

I'm 4hours in on this and there's no red, heavy bleeding. Only light spots when i wipe and so i'm thinking i will ask for an urgent scan tomorrow instead of Thursday just to make sure everything's working as it should (i've been told the longer an MC takes the higher risk of infection?)

I just want stories on who had something similar and how it ended for you? Was it an MC? Was baby actually okay?

    Thanks for sharing x
