Broncos

I just purchased a 2006 Mustang GT. Love it, great car. Anyway, there is almost like an imaginary line going across the middle of the car (length wise) where the paint above this line is rough to the touch. This includes hood, top of doors, fenders, etc. The rough areas look terrrific, no different than the smooth areas. The "imaginary line" across the center makes it seem almost as if it is supposed to be like this. Does anyone know if this is a defect, or if 2006 GT's have custom paint. I heard it could be clear coat spray and buffing it should take care of it. If it is a defect, any suggestions on how to correct the problem? Thanks.
