I have 3 American Eskimo Dogs, A mini, a standard, and a toy. I've worked with Eskie Rescue in the past and still do what I can to help. I also have 4 cats, 2 guinea pigs, a mini lop rabbit and a Cockateil. I love animals and will help or rescue any animal in need!! I love answering questions and I never give out any info unless I've experienced it! Owning 3 eskies and working with rescue I have lots of info to share. I'm sure not everyone will agree with things I have to say, but if I can help just one person with an answer that then it's a good thing!

  • Bonsai Tree?

I have a Bonsai Tree that I have had for several months. It is what is called a Juniper. About a month ago it started to turn brown.......I've done everything I can think of to keep it the green color it is suppose to be. I even repotted it and it started to look better but has now gone back to brown.

Does anyone know how I can get it's color back?

  • UTI in male dog?

Before I begin, I just want to make it clear that this is not a question to replace medical care for my dog. We are bringing in a urine sample to the vets today.

I just want to know if there is a way to make him more comfortable until I get the results. My vet wants to try just a urine sample instead of brining him in because he gets quite aggressive with the vet. So we are hoping that the sample will give us some answers without having to bring him in and sedate him.

He doesn't seem to be drinking more or peeing more often. What he is doing is after he pees he immediately licks himself. Then will try to pee again, stop and lick himself again. Then unless he is sleeping he keeps trying to lick himself. You can also see him tightening his muscles, so he is definately uncomfortable.

Anyone have any suggestions to make him more comfortable?

  • Why do people insist......?

On buying puppies from pet store or on line? When there are so many unwanted pets sitting in shelters, humane societies, and rescues!! Please take the time to read this article:

    http://www.hsus.org/pets/issues_affecting_our_pets...

People these are the kinds of places that these puppies come from!!! They are horrid places and the dogs are kept in the worst condtions you could ever think possible. Every time someone buys from a place like this it keeps these horrid places going. All they are out for is the money. They do not care about the welfare of any of the animals. Millions of dogs are put to sleep because of places like this.

People also need to be educated on how to be responsible pet owners. As that is another reason why there are so many unwated pets in this world. And I could go on and on about why it is much better to ADOPT a pet, but for now I will end it here!

  • How do you lose weight..........?

But only in certain areas? I have always been a very tiny person. Even after having 2 children, I'm still pretty petite. I've always been able to eat whatever I wanted without gaining weight. Most of my life I prayed to gain weight. After I turned 30 I did notice that gaining weight was a bit easier, although still never gained too much. However the past few years I've noticed the weight gaining on my stomach......just where I don't want it to go. Does anyone have any advise as to how I can lose some of the weight in my stomach area, without losing it anywhere else? I've been doing chrunches and that has helped a bit, but it's not toning the area enough.

  • Does anyone know what kind of moth this is?

I live in South Eastern Connecticut and I have never seen a moth that looks like these do. I think they are very beautiful and unique. Can anyone tell me what kind that are? I've searched the internet but couldn't find anything with this coloring.

  • Anyone else notice how...........?

When questions are answered that are accurate and true people rate them with a thumbs down? In the Dog section, someone asked about their female dog humping things. Most of us gave an accurate answer stating it was a dominance issue. And we all got a bunch of bad ratings. Now I feel that if people aren't going to take accurate advice then don't rate at all. Anyone else feel the way too?
