  • Will Pumas get better now?

Finally, Trejo has been fired. Unfortunately I do not believe he was the only problem. Chivas fans can agree that changing coaches is not always the answer. The so called refuerzos need to actually help. About 90 percent of the team needs to change.

  • How is your team doing after 4 weeks?

After four and games, we can start to see which teams will compete for a place in la liguilla. Unfortunately for me, Pumas is playing like crap. Trejo needs to leave. All these old players need to be benched and kicked out of the club. After a good start vs Querataro, we have just been playing bad. Always will support Pumas but something needs to change or they will also be in decenso problems.

bq: Superlider predictions? I say America or Pachuca

  • Is it suspicious?

I did not see exactly but Pablo Ramirez said that the assistant referee was running towards the middle of the field meaning its a goal when Fred shot it early in the game. However, when he saw that the shot did not go in he called off sides. The replay showed clear off sides. Does this seem suspicious to you guys?

  • Americanistas: If America and Mexico mess up?

To all Americanistas here, if America were to not make it to the Liguilla or get eliminated in the first round and Mexico has a bad WC and Piojo gets fired, would you want Piojo back for next season?

  • Is Pumas the best team?

They have 5 games without losing. 4 wins and 1 tie. They just beat last years superlider 3-1. Also, in the last 4/5 weeks, they have beat the last three champions (Xolos,Leon,Ame) They seem to be unstoppable right now. Should they be the base for el Tri?

Okay Just playing but I am damn glad Pumas is doing this good. Truth is Pumas has not been playing great but a win is a win so can't complain. Yesterday I thought America was going to win after the way Pumas played in the first half. In the second half Pumas was more aggressive and improved. Also, the red card help but still showed improvement.

bq: What place do you see Pumas finishing in? I say 4-7th

bq: Who will finish higher in the table America or Chivas? I say America but not by much

bq: Should cabrerra get a chance with el tri after the WC? Right it will be hard for him but he is really good. He would have been the starting contencion in the Olympics if he had not been hurt

  • Can we all agree that Pumas is back?

After destroying the all powerful Delfines in the Copa MX and now dominating the all mighty Tigres, we can safely assume that Pumas is the favorite for the title right?

Just kidding but about time I get to enjoy something that has to do with Pumas. Even though I do not think Trejo should stay, a win is a win and hopefully they can build on this. Still can't believe they only have 4 goals and Bravo has scored them all. Cortez needs to step it up, if he regains for then I will not worry since we won in 2011 because of him playing at a high level.

Bq: I saw that Fierro, Bravo, Lugo, and De Nigris were all on the field but have not seen a Chivas game so I was wondering what position exactly do each of them play since all are natural forwards

bq2: Has that Rios player that America got played yet?

Bq3: Will Fabian regain his form in time for the World Cup? I saw a bit of the Azul-Veracruz game and he did alright.

  • World Cup preparation?

Does anybody know when the Mexican National Team will began their preparation for the WC? Will they call up the people playing in the Liga Mx before the season is done with like they did it for South Africa? Or will they wait until the league finishes to start the process?

I hope they wait or at least give the players in the la liguilla to be able to play those games. Santos without Peralta, Leon without Marquez, Montes, and Pena; or America without Layun or Aguilar etc...

It would suck for the quality of the games.

  • If Mexico advances to next round?

Who would you prefer facing? Assuming Spain and Holland go on. I want Spain. I think Mexico would have a better chance vs their playing style then going against Holland. Or lets hope Australia passes as the 2nd team...lol..

Overall it is a good group. They could have had it worst like Costa Rica or USA; or have it better like Japan and Honduras.

bq: i have always wondered why for the WC they do not do it like in the Champions and have a draw after the group stage?

  • So in a couple of hours?

The game of the year is about to happen, forget Barca vs Madrid. This game has the potential to go down as the best game of all time in all of football.

    Chivas vs. Pumas.

    Score prediction?

Which of these two teams will rebound next torneo?

What refuerzos should each of them get?

  • Piojo has said he will not call?

Apparently, Piojo has made it clear that he will not call any Europeos at all. At first I was like wtf. But thinking about it, I like the idea. Mexico got used to having the Europeos come and be starter even if they are not in great form. I do not think the ones who would get called would have made much of a difference. Chicha seems like he has regained his scoring form but his last games with el Ti were horrible as well as Gio, Aquino and Guardado. Moreno is the only one that truly deserved a call up. And hopefully this shows them that they will not automatically be in the WC and that they need to get their crap together

  • Who should be replaced?

Without hating on certain players just because they play for America, who should be replaced from today's line-up?

Take out Munoz for Ochoa but if it is Corona, i would not have a problem wit it

    Moreno for Topo

I would like to have Pena play instead of Medina and have Gio play in Penas position

If not then just replace Medina with Zavala or Hererra

Probably have Javier for Jimenez or Peralta

BQ: Who would you have wanted to have more playing time?

I wanted to see Molina and Mendoza play the 2nd half

  • So since chicha scored?

Since Chicharrito has score at least 3 goals with Man U since going back after the Cost Rica game and given that neither De Nigris or Jimenez played great, will he be a starter alongside Peralta?

Personally, I think that Jimenez has the POTENTIAL to be a much better player than Chicharrito but Hernandez on a hot streak is very dangerous. Hopefully by WC 2014 both of them are starters. That to me can be a deadly combination if both are in their best form; as long as Chicharrito plays up top and does not go down to midfield as much as he was with Chepo

  • So apparently Rubens is "Mexican"?

I just heard that Ruben is officially naturalizado, meaning that he can play for el Tri. The league just have to make sure the paper work. If this is true then I think it is obvious he will get called up by piojo. I am pretty sure this is why he did not call a replacement for Lobos.

Who would you rather have: Sambu, Lobos, or Chaco?

  • Even if some hate it?

I know that a lot of people do not want Piojo as DT for many reasons and even though I think it is unfair to Vuce and it is just shows how messed up the FMF is

HE MAY BE THE PERFECT CHOICE AND THE EXACT THING EL Tri needs:

Yes sometimes his emotions are over the top but that is not always a bad thing. Yes the Mexico players have been playing bad but also they seem to be lacking "heart" or "huevos". Piojo brings a lot of passion to his teams. While they do need to play better, they also need to play with ganas. Piojo brings "heart" and the improvement in quality will follow. Kind of what Aguirre did in 09.

    ---------MunozOchoa---------

    -------Reyes, Maza, Moreno--

    Layun----------------------------Aguila...

    --------------Medina/Pena-----------

    --------Mendoza-----------Lobos/Gio/Gua...

    ------------Jimenez---- Peralta--------

Does not seem to bad a lineup

  • Can Mexico beat Costa Rica and Panama?

Everyone is talking about New Zealand but first can Mexico go to Costa Rica and get the three points? I honestly say no, unless the next coach works a miracle. Then if Jamaica could tie them and Honduras beat them in El Azteca, then it is not sure Panama will be a victory.

-Last game, it showed why Torrado needs to be out.. Even though Zavala messed up a little bit, he is a better option. Or give Molina a chance.

This game showed why Salcido needs to leave.

Corona ****** up again and worse. If Ochoa lost his spot because of a mistake then Corona needs to be out.

-P.S NOW IS IT OBVIOUS WE NEED VELA? AND HELL EVEN JONATHAN?

Arce? not the worst but not good. Chaco, Gio, Reyes, and Moreno are the only ones that should keep being starters.

  • So after a good amount of games?

Now that we have seen him in some official games, does everyone see how overrated Aquino is? He is just like Fabian. He had good showing with the U-23 team but he is nothing special. Azul did not mind losing him cause they had Barerra who is a much more complete player. Aquino is fast but predictable. Hopefully Tena does not start him cause he has history with him.

  • What franchise should?

What franchise will Chivas buy when they get relegated?

But seriously what is wrong with them? I saw a couple of their preseason games and they look like they might have a decent season but damn they are bad. And even if Fabian does not leave, it seems he does not want to play for them. You know its bad when a canterano refuses to play for one of the biggest teams in Mexico... Pumas is headed in that direction 2... so much for having the best canteras...smh

p.s Should Zavala replace torrado and Hererra replace Arce for the Qualifiers?

  • Chepo finally cost Mexico?

While they played bad in Confed Cup, it was not surprising they did not go past group stages and the qualifiers are still not over, but his decisions have finally cost Mexico. Horrible tactics and bad selection of players.

Marquez Lugo was garbage the whole Gold Cup. Castro was fouling too much and cost Mexico a game just like he did for Azul. Then you put in Chaton when he is not 100 percent which was evident. He had Brizuela and Cortez on the bench the whole time. Either one of them would have been an upgrade over Marquez. Even though it is unlikely, who should replace Chepo?

4 AnswersMexican Football (Soccer)8 years ago
  • Something has to change?

At the beginning of the year I expected Mexico to have a comfortable time in the qualifiers and be competitive in Confederations Cup but after this past half year I really think that Mexico will get embarrassed in the Cup. Either Chepo needs to change the whole team except for Moreno and Corona or Chepo needs to go. I see people saying it is too late but actually it is the perfect time. Whoever the new coach is will have a 2 months of concentration with players including Gold Cup in order to get ready for the rest of the qualifiers. Piojo? Lavolpe? Hell even have Tena stay. Something has to change.

  • Who should be the right back for Mexico?

The competition is between them 2 for one position. A couple of weeks ago I would have said it was Meza for sure but based on Liga MX final and especially today's game I say Flores should be the RB. He handled the ball well when he attacked and had a few really good defensive plays while Meza did not do much and lost a few "easy" balls.

P.S if gio does not play on Tuesday, I would like to see Jimenez and Chicharrito play together. Chicha is a better strike but Jimenez plays good when behind a "9" as he does in America.. anyone want to see that combo too?
