AFQT 64 and my GT score was 111. I'm enlisting in the Army as a 30 year old female and I will have 2 dependents. Talk to me about jobs.
2 AnswersMilitary8 years agoChild support, both military, bah?
My husband is AD and I'm enlisting as well and leave for basic in a few months. We will be getting divorced and have 2 children who I will have sole legal and custodial custody of. I know since I will have the kids I will get dependent rate BAH. Curious what kind of BAH he will get since he will be paying child support. I've heard it will be single rate and I've heard its the family rate. Anybody know for sure?
4 AnswersMilitary8 years agoAF reenlistment vs. extension?
My husband has been in for 3 years in September(he enlisted for 6). We are currently stationed in Hawaii (been here 2 years) and just got approved to ipcot an additional 3 years. We still have another year left from his original orders. When he got the email it said he could either extend or reenlist. He would like to go ahead and reenlist for another 6 years. We keep getting mixed answers on whether he's able to reenlist now or if he has to wait. Anybody know for sure?
1 AnswerMilitary9 years agowhy is my tax refund higher then expected?
I filed taxes for my husband and I and according to turbo tax we are supposed to get back around $5000. I filed about 3 weeks ago and irs.gov has been saying there is a delay in processing. I made the appropriate phone calls and was told we are being offset and was given the # to financial mgt. services where I could check on this. Neither mine or my husbands social has brought up any offsets. So today I go and check the status of our return anthisis is what it says...
Your refund has been reduced to pay a past due IRS tax obligation.
The balance of your refund, $10,100.50, is scheduled to be direct deposited on February 18, 2011. If your refund is not credited to your account by February 23, 2011, check with your bank to find out if it has been received. Please wait until February 23, 2011 before you contact us again because we are unable to take any action until then.
That's quite a bit more then what we are supposed to receive. I plan on holding onto the extra money until I find out why we got it. I was just wondering if anyone has any idea why this could be.

My husband and I own a home in Ohio. He is in basic training right now in San Antonio. Since the market has gone to crap we are upside down with our mortgage (meaning we owe more then its worth) I have no clue how to get rid of it without filing bankruptcy. A friend had said she heard from a friend that the military will buy your home for what it appraises at. I don;t see how this makes any sense, has anyone ever heard of anything like this before?
