  • Can You Recommend Another News Blog Instead of HuffPost?

    I've been frequenting Huffington Post for news for a while now. Since AOL bought the site, there are a crazy amount of ads. The quality of the site has really gone downhill and I am frustrated by all the pop-up ads.

    I am on the left side of neutral, am not a Democrat or Republican. I am interested in politics, entertainment, books, media, and local news items.

    Do you have a recommendation for a different news site/blog I can try out?

  • Doctor Who Origins Question?

    I'd like to know more of the Doctor's mythology, his history. In this latest incarnation, the Doctor has mentioned in passing that he was the one that killed the other Time Lords (in self defense).

    Was this ever explained in more detail in the earlier (1960s, 1970s or 1980s) episodes?

    I've read "Time Enough For Love" by Robert A. Heinlein. I watched the movie "Jerome Bixby's The Man from Earth" a few weeks ago. I am also recently into Doctor Who and Torchwood.

    I am looking for a good book with immortal characters that are not vampires. Any suggestions?
