Left Hook
Sick and tired of the class-traitors who formulate their conservative opinions from Fox News soundbites without bothering to take the time to learn about the history of the United States. The country was in a lot better shape during the 40s, 50s and 60s when we followed a more socialist economic model. There's your proof right there that democratic socialism works. http://thebiglefthook.blogspot.com/
Why hasn't Norquist's head exploded?
I mean, Republicans are just about to raise your taxes. Why is Grover Norquist so quiet all of a sudden?
1 AnswerPolitics9 years agoShould I start David Nelson over A. Boldin?
(Not a PPR league)
Take shot on a weak defense with Nelson or go with the more secure Boldin against a good pass D?
2 AnswersFantasy Sports10 years agoShould I trade Vick and N. Burleson for S. Bradford and Vincent Jackson?
My backup QB is Stafford in a standard non-PPR league.
1 AnswerFantasy Sports10 years agoWho should take the fall for Verizon's poor leadership?
The shareholders who invested in (and likely) voted for the leadership who did not foresee the downfall of their wireline services and make the necessary adjustments to keep businesses strong?
Or the employees that work for Verizon?
The current strike is happening because the corporate leaders want to slash benefits over dividends based on their sluggish wireline business.
5 AnswersPolitics10 years agoOne again, Warren Buffet reiterates that lower taxes on the rich does not create jobs or deter investments?
So why does our government continue to support lower taxes on the rich which clearly hurts America on the whole?
17 AnswersPolitics10 years agoDid Republicans destroy our economy to prevent Obama from destroying our economy?
I mean, they said their goal was to limit Obama to one term, which I assume was to prevent him from hurting our economy, so they went ahead and got our rating lowered to do that? Am I the only one that sees the flaw in this logic?
13 AnswersPolitics10 years agoWhat does this tell you about conservatives?
They say if American moves any farther to the left, they will move to Canada.
12 AnswersPolitics10 years agoWhat does this tell you about conservatives?
Conservatives dislike Obama because he's a Democrat.
Liberals dislike Obama because he governs like a Republican.
15 AnswersPolitics10 years agoWhy do far-right conservatives choose to ignore history?
I see so many conservatives on this board who argue, until they are blue in the face, points that are in direct contradiction to historical facts.
Why? Not only is this baffling, but it's truly scary.
25 AnswersPolitics10 years agoDo Tea Partiers realize that while they are screaming at the government for extorting them?
Corporations are standing behind them with a baseball bat aimed at their heads like Robert DeNiro in "The Untouchables?"
I don't know about you, but I'm still a fan of the "one person, one vote" system as opposed to one where you have to buy your vote in the form of stock shares. The more money you have, the more of a vote you get. Seems to go against that whole Jacksonian Democrat philosophy.
8 AnswersPolitics10 years agoThe rich got to keep their tax cuts, so where are the jobs?
If trickle-down economics is supposed to work so well, why has hiring stagnated? The government held up their end by extending unnecessary tax cuts to the wealthy, so where are all these jobs they are supposed to create because of them?
*And "There is uncertainty about the future of their tax breaks" is NOT an excuse, it's a cop out. There is ALWAYS uncertainty about this.
2 AnswersPolitics10 years agoWhy do so many Americans support a person making 50K paying more taxes than GE who made $5B?
And let's not get in to the argument that GE creates jobs because they are notorious for outsourcing jobs.
So why do so many on the right support a political model that has a person making $50K a year pay several thousand dollars in taxes while a corporation with $5B in profits and a poor track record of creating domestic jobs is able to avoid paying virtually any taxes at all?
12 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoStill believe Unions have no place in today's America?
A recent Wall Street Journal analysis found that even though productivity rose 5.2 percent from mid 2009 to the end of 2010, wages increased by just 0.3 percent. That means only 6 percent of productivity gains were shared with workers. In past recoveries, that figure has averaged 58 percent. This time around, far more of the gains went to shareholders, in the form of profits, which are at record levels.
Or is the Wall Street Journal not credible enough?
9 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIf conservatives hate Mexico so much, why do they want the US to be just like them?
Since the New Deal was put in place, Republicans have been working to tear it down by bankrupting the Federal Government (i.e. Reagan, Dubya) so social programs can be gutted. Now that it's looking like the plan is coming to fruition, the rich won't have to take care of the rest of us "freeloaders" anymore.
What we'll have then is a country run by the super rich, a minuscule middle class and massive amounts of poverty. Just like Mexico.
10 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWho is more valuable: One hedge fund manager or one teacher?
Last year, America's top thirteen hedge-fund managers earned an average of $1 billion each. One of them took home $5 billion. Much of their income is taxed as capital gains -- at 15 percent -- due to a tax loophole that Republican members of Congress have steadfastly guarded.
If the earnings of those thirteen hedge-fund managers were taxed as ordinary income, the revenues generated would pay the salaries and benefits of 300,000 teachers. Who is more valuable to our society -- thirteen hedge-fund managers or 300,000 teachers? Let's make the question even simpler. Who is more valuable: One hedge fund manager or one teacher?
11 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy do Conservatives refuse to understand the difference between Socialism and Communism?
Seriously... it's like they have a mental disorder which prevents them from understanding these two very different ideologies.
While we're at it, can you also tell me why, just because a political party or country has "Socialism" in the name, that they believe that it is actually socialism?
Why don't they understand that the National Socialist German Workers' Party was not socialism at all?
Why don't they understand that the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was communist not socialist?
What's the deal? Is it a missing chromosome or something?
8 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWould you start Goodson or Stewart this week?
I know these guys will be splitting carries and even if Goodson gets less action, I'm thinking he may still outproduce Stewart.
3 AnswersFantasy Sports1 decade agoIf Warren Buffet says trickle down economics does not work, shouldn't we believe him?
Bill Gates seems to agree as well. I mean these guys would know if tax breaks spur jobs... they employ thousands if not tens of thousands of people or more.
Doesn't the fact that they are essentially saying "make me pay more taxes" add weight to their arguments?
10 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhich two RBs would you start?
I know, my RB situation is garbage, but this is what I have to pick from. This is not a PPR league.
Thomas Jones
Matt Forte
Jahvid Best
2 AnswersFantasy Sports1 decade agoHow fired up are conservatives going to be when?
They realize that they are never going to be able to repeal health care reform?
When they cut unemployment benefits off and there are still no jobs to be had?
When they reduce the debt by forcing huge numbers of otherwise hard-working Americans into poverty?
When they realize that the rich have no one left to rule over because they have destroyed the rest of America?
When they still can't take the Presidency in 2012?
