  • Soap drying out my skin?

I recently went home for the holidays and used my parents soap, and when I got out of the shower my skin got incredibly dry. I assumed a) it was their soap and b) it might have just been the cold.

My regular soap has aloe in it and is amazing, it has never dried out my skin. I returned home and figured things would go back to normal...however, now even my regular soap is drying out my skin. This has never happened to me before, and never with my normal soap (which I have been using for years).

    What's going on?

  • Roommate might be skipping out on Rent...Advise?

I currently live in a 4bd 2bt house with my 3 roommates. One of our roommates is OCD and decided that he made a mistake in living with roommates after living alone for 2 years...this was back in Nov when he decided this but didn't tell us. He found a replacement roommate in Dec but didn't tell us. Then 2 weeks before Feb he knocks on our doors and tells us that a guy will be coming to look at the place that day and will be moving in in April. None of us were ok with it but April is a long time to get used to that, so we meet the guy and he really is on different schedules then all of us. The next day our roommate informs us that he lied and the guy would be moving in Feb 1st.

Now our lease states that for any changes to that lease, all 4 original signers must be present and sign again. We all told him no. It was at that point that our landlord (who seems to be working with him) informed us that rent must be split between all of us, but if someone leaves it falls on the remaining inhabitants to pay the difference. Yeah she said that all in the same breath.

Now our roommate has informed us that he is moving out this Thurs but paying two rents. However our Landlord will be here tomorrow to "check his room." Normally that is only done when trying to get back your security deposit.

It just seems very very shady. What, if any, legal recourse might my other roommates and I have? We were told that all 4 had to be present to make a change to the lease but he seems to be skipping out. Is there anything that we can do? We can't afford to split rent here 3 ways.

Thanks for the advise in advance.

  • Advise to reach Medical School?

I am a college graduate with a BS in Psychology and minors in Classics, Biology, and Chemistry. I have taken all the Medical School pre-reqs. I have a 3.69 GPA. I have spent the past 2 years working to pay off student loans. My highest MCAT score was 24Q. I have 40 hours of volunteer service at the local NICU.

I understand that I will have to take the MCAT again, however I have run into difficulty in 3 areas: my science GPA is between 3.4-3.5, I don't have a lot of volunteer hours, and my letters of rec are weak and old.

At this point I am looking for any advise on what steps I should take next. I have throught about getting a Masters degree in Biochemistry which would give me time to get to know more professors for my Letters, improve my GPA, study for the MCAT, and get in some research/volunteer opportunities. I have been told that the Masters degree will not improve my application alone so it has also been suggested to just get a job in the health care industry and take the MCAT again. My father wants me to do the latter or enter the peach corp.

My question would be, based on the background I have provided what would be the best "next step" for me to take? Obviously I am biased towards going to Grad school, but I am looking for any positive suggestions that do not need to be limited to the 2 or 3 I provided in the paragraph above.

Thank you in advance for the advice.

  • How can I change my Yahoo mail address?

I have had Yahoo mail for about 8 years now, and my e-mail address has been a screen name that I used on AOL for the longest time. Looking at it now, it is a little juvenile and I would like to change the name of the address to something a little more mature before I send out my resume after college graduation. Is there a way to do that without creating a totally new Yahoo account or am I just S.O.L.?

  • Wireless Networking help

I have had the same set up for 3 years. Cable - split to internet and TV. The internet is then hooked to my modem which I split through a wireless modem so my roommates can also access the internet.

We just moved and used the same set up again. It worked for 2 days, then it started getting slow one morning (like 10 mins to load a page slow). It eventually died in the afternoon. Reset the router, repaired and reset modem connection, then ran virus check (nothing), also changed splitter just in case. It worked again, till the next morning. This time not all the lights on the modem were on, it was stuck blinking on "receive". Then 10 mins later all the lights were on but no internet for me (hardwired) or my roommates (wireless).

When I unhook the TV and router and just hook the cable straight to my modem and modem straight to my PC it works fine. But when I split the cable it does not work, even if I split with the TV and modem but leave out the router it still does not work. What could it be? How can I fix this? This is a normal set up that is done correctly, has always worked, and there is no explanation why it isn't working now. Please help.

  • It just doesn't sit right with me.....?

I know there has been a lot of TBL talk, however the rumor of moving Boyle out doesn't sit right with me.

I, being a TBL fan, was even ok with moving Richards out, but this bothers me more cause Boyle has always been the most underrated D-man in hockey.

Let's look at this from a Cap perspective:

We now have ownership willing to reach the cap max of 56.7 Mil. Currently we are at about 40 Mil, with 3 Mil buyout of Denis that puts us roughly around 37 Mil. Malone and Roberts take up 8.1 Mil combined puting us at about 45.1 Mil...with still 11 Mil to pick up a goalie and some D-Men.

Boyle will take 6.6 Mil of the cap next year (alot I know) however with 11 Mil free, what's the point, do we need 17.6 Mil to pick up a goal and some D, plus shipping him out hurts the D which could mean picking up 2 D-men would only be a wash.

What is the logic behind shipping him out with these cap numbers in perspective?

PS if this happens I will be very upset with the new owners

  • What are some good Montreal excuses now??

So ever since Vinny Lecavalier signed with the Lightning there have been conspiracy theories as to how Vinny wants to be a Canadien and hates TBL. Even after Vinny said in a press conference after Torts was fired "I am excited about the new ownership and would like to finish my career in Tampa," Eklund (a Canadien fan as I'm told) swore that his "sources" in Montreal claimed Vinny still wanted to test Free Agency and wasn't being honest.

Now Vinny has all but signed a new 9 year 77 mill contract and now all the remains are some more Canadien conspiracy theories....so what do you think will be some of the new excuses for Montreal???

Mine: The new owner Koules used a jigsaw like puppet from "Saw" to kidnapped Vinny's mom and force him to consider a contract extention. Vinny is currently trying to find his mom's location while pretending to consider the contract...once Vinny frees her before July 1st he will then sign a 20 year deal with Montreal.

  • Trade Rumors?

So it's trade rumor time and I have 2 questions to get you going:

    1) What trade are you tired of hearing about that you feel will absolutely not happen...yet certain fans keep talking about it?

    - For me it is Lecavalier to Montreal. Even after his comment (link below), certain rumor mill people - Montreal fans - still insist that he was just posturing and wants to be in Montreal. Well guys, he said it himself...read it and weep:

Lecavalier said he intends to discuss signing a long-term deal that could keep him with Tampa Bay his entire career. "I want to. I just think they want to wait to be officially in charge before we talk about it," Lecavalier said Tuesday. "I'm looking forward to the new owners. They have a passion for the game. Oren Koules and Len Barrie have played the game. I'm encouraged about the new owners, and I'm excited about things."

    2) What trade did you think would happen and seems it still could?

    - for me it is Huet to TBL, which still has a chance

  • Moving Teams Out Of Florida?

This will be a long lead up to my question so I'll pose it first:

Why do people constantly say we need to get NHL teams out of Florida?

I posted ALOT last year cause I was in college, now I have a real job and I've been too busy, but I always notice people saying get the teams out of FL and give them to a Canadian City that will respect them.

I just want to point out that 4 years after winning a cup, TBL have been in the top 10 in attendance every year since, and after spending half this year out of the top 8 and a quarter of the year in dead last, they are 8th in the league in attendance with better attendance than 11 playoff teams - even with more than 20 or so "meanlingless" games since they weren't making the playoffs

So I know not everyone thinks this, but why do people feel a team in Canada would "respect" them more? The support in Tampa is great. Is it just hockey elitest snobs saying this or what?

  • Can I have your goalie???

So don't get me wrong. Karri Ramo is doing great, and last night's loss was not his fault....but I'm just a little anxious cause the Lightning are 14th in the East. We need all the wins we can get and should have won last night but I'm still nervous with a rookie in goal even though I don't trust Denis or Holmqvist anymore either.

So why isn't anything being done about Tampa's goalie situation?? It's not like we aren't scoring (we have Lecavalier and St. Louis with banner years again). If Torts likes Holmqvist, fine but why not drop Denis 2.5 Mil and make up for it some how? I know I should give Ramo more time and he is great an all, plus the Lightning always come back in the 2nd half of the season....but disregarding that, what can we do about this goalie situations???

  • Lightning FA possibilities at this point?

Alright, I realize me and like one other guy post ALL the Lightning questions but here is a fairly hard question to answer but I'd like to hear some viable prospects.

They are sitting at 46 mill, moved Perrin (C) clearing 450K, and Sarich (D) clearing 1.9 mil. They have the possibilities of moving Denis (G) 2.8 mil, Fedotenko (LW) 1.65 mill. This roughly clears (if Denis and Fed go) 6.8 mil and cap of 50.3 they could have up to 11.1 mil. They picked up Ouellet (RW) that could fill in either winger position, got Gratton for a Center, Milley for a RW, and sent Wanvig down and Hlavac took his place.

Now they still seem to need to fill a D, C, and LW, maybe a Goalie but they have 4 just not sure who will be in the minors and if they pursue Bryz. So what are some viable prospects for D, C, and LW maybe G with the money they have? And/or are they just looking to fill within their system?

  • Lightning Rumor Chat? (if you don't care, don't answer)?

The Lightning's current payroll is 46.6 mil...there are rumors that they still could move Brad Richards clearing 7.8 mil (and got Gratton that could fill his shoes) and they are definitely dropping Denis 2.8 mil AND cap has been set at 50.3 mil. Now if all is said and done, this gives them 14.3 mil.

Now I haven't gone player to player to see their pay increases but no one's was a significant upgrade. My question is there is sooo little talk out of their camp because they will look to have close to the same lineup in 07-08, so why didn't they go for someone like Cujo? Why aren't they pursuing Emery? Why are they moving with Bryzgalov and Koshechkin as backups (I guess unless the plan might be to increase Holmqvist's pay)? AND THE MAIN QUESTION: What moves could they, would they, should they make on July 1st with 14.3 mil to spend?

  • Lightning rumor question?

Ok, this is something I don't understand. Now before I get in too deep let me just say that the rumor was only a comment from some idiot, 2-bit, no-name blogger that thinks he is Barry Melrose of the internet...and it was probably just a dumb comment he made but I'm just checking. This guy seemed to have taken a comment from Lecavalier at the NHL awards as stating that he was "unsure" of his future with the Lightning. The Lightning signed him to a 7-year contract and he is the heart of the team and the fans and management love him, as does he love the organization. My question is, was this just the idiots crazy pipe dream of maybe getting Lecavalier on his team, or was there really legitimate rumors of him leaving the team? And if there was (which I doubt), how could that be since he just signed a 7 year contract and had the goals title this year? I wouldn't think he could (or would want to) get out of the contract, nor would the Tampa organization want to get rid of him ever.

  • Laptop help for a laptop noob?

I have had a desktop all my life. My desktop is only a year old and works fine, but I need a laptop cause I'm lazy. I want to type in bed after work and I'm going to Med School soon and will need to bring it to class. I will only need it for wireless internet, Word processor, and storage of files/info. THAT'S IT.

What laptops are good? I know NOTHING about laptops but I am computer savvy so you don't need to dumb things down for me. I've been told to get at least 1 GB RAM, 1.8 GHz processor speed, 80 GB storage (or whatever I want), and 3-6 USB outlets. Is this about right? What is the best processor to get or look for? And what is a good brand? Finally, I saw an Acer Aspire 5100 with all those specs (except 160 GB storage)...is this a good brand to trust?

  • Here's a change of pace from playoff talk.....question?

Tampa Bay Lightning signed Holmqvist to a year long deal. This guy is the real deal. He was #2 goalie in all of Sweden, 27-15 with an 2.85 GAA, and .893 SV%...and only in his 4th year and 1st ever playoffs. I think he is going to be a stud at goalie but he is still young.

So my question is, who is a viable veteran, cheap goalie that Tampa Bay could go for? Holmer needs more experience and I think the Lightning should get a #1 starter for Holmer to learn some more from. Burke and Denis bit us in the butt, so who is available, who is worth seeking?

PS I don't care if you don't like my team or whatever dumb comments you have, I'm interested in actual possibilities at goalie for the Lightning.

  • CNA of Tech postiion?

I am looking to become a CNA or Tech at a hospital in Florida, but when I look under job descriptions for available jobs they want certifications. I have been looking for a week now and can not find out where to sign up for classes for such certificaltions. Does anyone know where I should look to become certified as a CNA or a Tech position, such as Emergency Care Tech, Lab support tech, or Monitor Tech?

  • Who is in the goal for NJ?

Where did Broduer go? At least the guy in the net is consistent...3 goals allowed in every game. NJ fans should start to watch the Basketball playoffs or baseball soon.

  • So Devils fans.....?

I know smack talk is normal after a win, but after game one it was just blah blah blah NJ will win the cup blah blah blah the Lightning have a horrible goalie. But you are right, the TB goalie tonight was aweful with his 34 saves. TB may not have a goalie but at least their goalie hasn't averaged 3 goals against in 2 games.

Our goalie is bad, but your offense is HORRIBLE. 27th in goals, 21st in assits, and 27th GFA. You're team is AWEFUL at The Forum and you are 13-5-1 against TB in the past 5 seasons.

So I was wondering, if the aweful goaltending is going to be Tampa Bays undoing....how are you going to do it with a non-existant offense? Where is the "god" Marty at, or is averaging 3 goals against on only 20 shots actually an awesome goaltending outting? And when the Lightning win 2 in Tampa like that have all year against you, will you still think you can win in the series and the cup down 1-3 in the series?

  • How about the Lightning?

I never hear anything bad about them from you guys, but never hear anything good either. Is this because they are a small market team or what?

I'm a huge fan (I'm from Tampa area and you gotta like your area teams). I think what they have done in the 2000's is amazing for a small market team, i.e. playoff appearances from 2001 to (it looks like) 2007 and Stanley Cup in 2004.

What do you all think, or do you care? lol
