I'm the proud owner of two beautiful Border Collies. Darcie is my eldest at 4 years and Ellie my youngest at 2 years. I have grown up with Border Collies my entire life it has given me some wonderful experiences and some very usuefull skills and knowledge to deal with my two at the moment however, I'm always willing to learn. I'll say it how I see it and that may offend some and may please others so If you are of the negative kind, direct your frustrations at someone else, because I'm not bothered.

  • Is this pup a purebred Border Collie?

This dog is my girlfriend's mother's dog. She is said to be a pure bred Border Collie.

My girlfriend and I have 2 BC's and I have owned many over the years.

She certainly has features of a BC however, there is just something about her that is off?

Her muzzle is not very wide and quite long with the very slightest taper at the nose.

    Opinions?

Try to refrain from talking about "well it should be on the papers if its pure bred, or backyard breeding and all that"

This is NOT my dog, so try not to bring it up lol.

  • I've got an old Adox Golf 63 Camera and the shutter release button wont work?

I can't see any obvious obstructions on the mech and the shutter will release manual when the paddle is depressed.

This leads me to think something is wrong between the shutter release button and the shutter arm?

Anyone got experience with this problem, any solutions? Might have to go to my locals camera shop...

  • Nikon d5100 or something else?

I'm looking to upgrade from my rather dated (yet still wonderful) Sony a200. Had my a200 for years but would just like to upgrade to something a little more special.

I can get a Nikon d5100 for just shy of £400.

For that price or less, are there any other considerations I should be looking at? I've looked at the EOS series from canon but still not convinced the larger price tag is all that worth it?

Oh, and I'm a little old fashioned so please don't suggest the Sony SLT range as I'm not at all impressed with the no optical viewfinder and I wont be persuaded otherwise.

    Thoughts and opinions welcome!

  • Does anyone own a large Munsterlander?

In a couple of years I'll be adding to my "pack" and I have been doing a lot of research through various breeds, one of which the Large Munsterlander, but I am looking to hear personal accounts of the breed from owners?

Owners only please (unless you've had experience in kennels etc with this breed)

  • Dog friendly shopping? Does it exist?

I understand that there are many factors in play: For instance, carpeted floors are all to popular in a lot of stores so that alone makes for a good enough reason to avoid the sheer accumulation of faeces stains....However, wondering if there is anything being done about it, do people even want it? I know there is no actual law in the UK forbidding it and its simply down to the company owners...

Just wondering if near you, you have any shops other than pet shops that allow dogs (other than assistance dogs) in to shop with you?

Do you even want to be able to shop with your dog?

    Sorry for multiple questions...

  • Am I protected from ignorant credit lenders from Littlewoods?

Here's the story, I'll keep it short and sweet.

Girlfriend has a Buy Now Pay Later (from now will be shortened to BNPL) on some clothing items that she bought.

The total payment period is 12 months and we don't have to pay anything until 12 months is up.

They send her the wrong item. We sent it back. They sent the right item and charged me for the delivery! We then got that charge removed from our statement.

They then charged me again for this item. Contacted them AGAIN and so they removed it. Then it appeared again. They removed it, then it appeared again and now they are requesting a minimum payment by the 26th because they apparently couldn't just take the incorrect order off and instead decided to take the BNPL item OUT of the BNPL agreement and put it as a separate order. However, this is the interesting bit- They took the item out of the BNPL and are now attempting to charge me separately, and get this, have now put the item BACK IN the BNPL as well.

Surely , please tell me, is this a breach of the credit agreement?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • My dogs likes to be pushed, does anyone else's dog exhibit this behaviour?

A little background info and some context here.

When they were pups, to desensitise them to being pushed and pulled by young children within my family I always used to play with them and push and pull them about (gently of course).

Now that they are at the ages 2 and 4 they both love to be pushed. They will walk up sideways when I'm sitting on the sofa and when I push them with my feet they just keep coming back?

Just wondering if anyone else's dogs act the same as its highly amusing :)

  • Anyone got any personal reviews on a Peugeot 306 ESTATE 2.0 HDI Diesel?

Fed up of the reviews on main sites only ever telling me about the dated trim levels and that's its not as "good looking" as its rivals. (I'm a sucker for old boxy cars so that's not my concern)

I'm looking for common faults on this particular model? Expensive, inexpensive but consistent repairs etc?

  • Can anyone fully explain the prejudice behind cross breeds v pedigree?

Don't just go listing the pros and cons, I know the pros and cons.

I mean why do people continually and naively brave the front that ''mutts'' aren't worth a dime and pedigrees are something special.

I think too many people relate cross-breeds or ''mutts'' with BYB's.

After all, my MUTT lived until she was 19 years old. Yeah, unhealthy one she was?

Opinions please, let the prejudice and naivety begin :)

  • Border Collies, why do people keep making the mistake of just going for a pretty dog?

Is it really THAT difficult to do a little bit of research atleast? Afterall, why not doom a BC to the shelter because your irresponsible. Opinions please.
