Are thumbs fingers or are thumbs thumbs?
Do we have ten fingers or eight fingers and two thumbs?

Caught a thing on the idiot box the other day, where it was asserted that energy bent space/time.
I assume that would indicate that energy has mass.
If all the energy to make a universe appeared in one spot and it curved space/time why didn't it collapse into a black hole?
If that energy didn't bend space/time how much faster would the universe's 'clock' be running compared to the rate we experience today?

I'm given to understand that the force of gravity is strongest at the (approx.) surface of a body, does that mean the maximum curvature of space/time caused by the mass of a body is approximate to that body's surface? If so what happens to the curvature of space/time beneath that surface?
