So my college isn't a huge party town, but there are a few frats around with houses that throw down every weekend or so. Thing is, it's a residential neighborhood, and almost every party ends with the police knocking on the door, talking with the brothers for a short while, and several drunk and defeated college students filing out the door. The cops obviously know there is underage drinking going on, if they walked in the house they'd find loads of alcohol and it's very clear everyone's been drinking.

So how do these frats manage to keep throwing parties? Isn't there some consequence for disturbing peace and underage drinking? I'm not complaining, but just wondering.

So I was on Yik Yak. Forgive me, I should get off of that app. But someone posted something about how a girl that he hooked up with told him that he "made her feel special". Now I looked in the comments section below, and I saw several comments congratulating the poster on "What a great person he was", "What a great thing he was doing for the world", and that he was "making the world a better place".

I was honestly surprised to see such posts.

Firstly, what is so heroic about having casual sex with a girl you don't care about? If he did care about her, he'd at the very least date her and not just have her as a "hookup option". When people are congratulated for doing a good deed, it's usually because of some sacrifice they made on their part to better the life of someone else. For example. "You sacrificed your time at the food pantry to help the poor in need". "You sacrificed your money to give to the less fortunate" "That firefighter sacrificed his safety to rescue those in that fire".

And then, "You selfishly use someone else to fulfill your sexual pleasures". What? How is that laudable?

Secondly, I cannot be sure that anyone can find fulfillment through casual sex without a meaningful relationship. Those in the porn industry certainly dont, and while this is nothing of the sort, I would argue that she evidently doesn't know what "being special" is if her definition is some hookup-partners meaningless words. Noone should be congratulating this man. What are your thoughts?

I m rather confused as to what HTML5 is. Is it an actual language, or does it just feed off Javascript? And what is it s relationship with graphics? Thanks for any clarification.

I then create another class called MultiplicationGame, which extends MathGame.

In the constructor of MultiplicationGame, if I call super() ,does that call the overall superclass s constructor, or just the one of the class it extends?Thanks

I need to buy some poles to race with for my high school team. I wanted to buy aluminum poles, but.... I don't want them to bend easily, and effectively waste 40 dollars. The ones I am looking at are by atomic; they are race poles. Can aluminum last me, or should I spend the extra money on carbon for this season? thanks

So today people in my city way up North took to the streets protesting. Now agree or disagree with me, but I think this whole race thing is getting blown out of proportion. Should the officer have shot him 6 times? No. However, can you prove that Wilson was a racist? That he shot Brown just because he was black? It's not exactly as if Brown was an angel, he was caught robbing a store earlier in the day, and nobody can prove what really happened when he was shot. To me, this is an excuse for the media to give the delusion that police officers are "out to get" black people, and it is devoured by the general public. So I wanted to get some takes on it, why do you think the Officer shot Brown, and was it "racist?" Thanks

I am currently a senior and have taken many Java classes. I love Java and it certainly is something I would like to continue. The only problem is, I am not a very strong math student. I am terrible at Algebra and am not the best at Pre-Calc either. I know I cannot survive in a course which is mostly math based. What is a good major then? Does CS make use of lots and lots of calculus and math?

I thought you were supposed to take 1/cos(7pi/6), which would give you (1/sqrt3/2). Apparently the answer is -2sqrt3/3. How do you get to this? Thanks

Have an AP us history test soon, but as i was looking through past prompts, i often noticed it will ask you to look at 3 aspects of a certain time period. For example, in 2008: "The 1920's have been characterized as a decade of economic, social, and cultural change. Analyze the extent to which WWI and consumerism affected US Society during this period." Could you just say "Consumerism and WWI contributed to economic, social, and cultural change during the 20;s", or would you need to elaborate on what the changes in the 20's were? Asked this girl to prom, she said she'd really love to go. I intended to pay but she won't let me. Every time i tell her i will she just says "No i can't let you do that it's so expensive!"

I got my permit rejected because i forgot my passport. The woman at the RMV handed me a rejection notice and told me to come back later and get a "Supervisor Number". What does that mean, and will it go faster the second time so I don't need to wait hours for my ticket to be called again? This is in MA, if it makes a difference

So i got a part - time job recently, and my employer handed me a w4 tax return sheet to fill out.

However, i am only 16 and doubt that most of it applies to myself. First, I technically work two jobs (one seasonally), but will be making less than 6k a year. Should I say "I am single and have only one job" or go on the back to the "Multiple Jobs" Section? Also, what does it mean when it asks for "Total number of allowances you are claiming?" Thanks
