  • Opinion Question about Rifles?

I am looking for a good deer rifle. I have not really fired any rifles other than my .22 rifle and Yugo SKS. I am looking on recommendations for a good deer hunting rifle. I have heard the SKS is a good poor mans deer rifle, but I have also heard its illegal to hunt in some states with a semi auto. Because of this I'm considering trading my Yugo SKS for something like a Bolt action 30-30 or 30-06 but I am wanting suggestions. What would you do? Would you trade an SKS for another rifle? I would like to hear from experienced deer hunters.

  • Can you laser sight a Yugo SKS with scope?

I own a Yugo SKS. I went down to the gun shop recently and had the gunsmith put a scope on it. It feels solid and doesnt move, but he said he could not laser sight it due to the fact that it has the launcher attachment on the end of the barrel. He said if I wanted to laser sight it I need a special type of laser sight. Does anyone know what that type of laser sight is? Or where I can buy one?

  • Water in the intake... What to do?

My girlfriend was driving my 97 Dodge Avenger when she splashed through a puddle on the way to work. The car stalled out and she pushed it out of the water. My father happened to see her and stopped to help her out and checked the oil and spark plugs but did not see water. He was able to start the car but it made a rattling sound when running so he shut it off and checked the oil again and saw water.

I started the once to drive it on to a trailer and one more time when we took it to the mechanic. The ticking sound is not really loud just noticeable.

I did read that perhaps changing the oil and filter could help as water is in the oil and will not compress.

Is it too late for my poor car? I love this car almost more then my girlfriend what should I do!?!
