So I received a DMCA letter from CEG TEK, I figured it wouldn't be worth the trouble so I paid the settlement of approx 200 dollars, but now I have done a little more research it seems like a very bad idea to have paid them and given personal information. What are the specific consequences and is there any remedy to this?

I am currently using Windows 7, some sites that I go to everyday suddenly stopped working, but can be accessed through a proxy

I have tried clearing the caches for every browser on the computer, clearing the DNS cache, and changing routers, nothing seems to work
