question about making and storing formula?
Ok, so my daughter is 9 months old and this is the first time I have had to make up formula. She has had some long life formula a couple of times but it is not cost effective. My questions are:
1. If you pre-make the formula in the morning, do you store them in the fridge or leave them at room temperature?
2. How long would a bottle last for? Say I make 3 in the morning before I go to work and they don't all get used would they be ok to use the following night?
Thanks in advance.
1 AnswerNewborn & Baby1 decade agowill thrush go away on its own or do you have to treat it?
I think I have vaginal but am breastfeeding and read that you can't take the tables if you are breastfeeding and I am a little bit scared to use the cream. Also, if it isn't thrush and I treat it will it do any harm?
Thanks in advance.
1 AnswerSkin Conditions1 decade agoCan you freeze cooked meat?
I have just made about 1 weeks worth of meat and minced it up really fine for my 7 month old daughter. I want to freeze it in ice cube trays so she can have a bit each night. Is it safe to freeze the cooked meat then thaw and reheat it? The meat was fresh, not frozen, before I cooked it.
Thanks in advance.

10 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agowhat age can babies have milk and cheese?
My daughter is 6 months and eats baby yogurt with out any problems. I don't want to give it to her as a drink but was thinking of giving her weet-bix with a little bit of full cream milk to soften it. Is that ok or do I have to wait till 1yr? If it is ok how much can she have? Also when can she have cheese?

1 AnswerNewborn & Baby1 decade agoWill cradle cap go away by itself or do I have to treat it?
My 6 month old daughter has cradle cap. She doesn't seem to have very much of it and it isn't itching her or bothering her in any other way. I have heard that you can put baby oil on it but I don't like the idea of doing that. Is there another way to get rid of it? Will it go away by itself?
Thanks in advance.
13 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoBaby led weaning - advice?
My baby has been having purees for about 5 wks now and only having 2 'meals' a day. She will be 6 months on Monday and I want to start giving her an extra solid meal at tea time. I was thinking of taking the BLW approach as I would rather her feed herself while I eat my tea. I will continue with the purees for breakfast and lunch for now but just do finger foods at tea. What to you think of that idea?
I do have a couple of questions about BLW:
How big do I make the pieces of food?
How soft do I cook it?
How much do I give her?
And I guess the most important 1, How do I tell the difference between gagging and choking?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
4 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoWhat your (or your baby's) favourite baby food recipie?
At the moment we are just eating plain vegetables or fruit 1 at a time for her to get used to it. Just looking for some other food ideas for when we start mixing things up a little.
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoCan you feed a baby frozen vegetables?
Obviously they would be cooked and pureed before she would eat them. I want to buy some frozen peas and corn for my almost 6 month old to try.
6 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoTo wrap or not to wrap, that is the question?
Ever since birth my LO has liked being wrapped. She is now 5 months and still needs to be wrapped to go to sleep (I have tried to put her down without being wrapped and she won't/can't go to sleep. As soon as I wrap her she is out within minutes). Lately she has been getting out of the wrap over night and we have been finding her with it around her chest of a morning. My partner and I are worried about her being choked by it. Do you think we should stop wrapping her? I also worry that if I stop wrapping her she will A) not sleep or B) roll over in her sleep and not be able to get back again (she can only roll from back to front not front to back). Any suggestions, opinion?
Thanks to all in advance.

8 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoWhat position is your babies arm in when they roll from front to back?
I am trying to help my daughter learn how to roll from her front to back. She can go from back to front but gets really frustrated when she can't get off of her stomach. Can you please tell me what position your babies arm is in when they roll over so that I can help her better? She is 5 months old and has been going from back to front for about 1 month now.
4 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoworried about my daughters weight gain?
My daughter is 20 weeks old. Today I took her to be weighed and she was only 7kgs. I had her weighed about 5 weeks ago and she was 6.48kgs. She has only gained 500gs in 5 weeks. Is that too little? She is approx 68cms tall. She has grown 5 cms in 5 weeks. I think I'm going to make an appointment with my child health nurse but just wanted some feedback from you lovely ladies/men.
Thanks in advance.

4 - Any other HELPFULL advice?

5 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoDoes breastfeeding cause the mother to have a lower immune system?
Before I had my daughter I was never sick. I would get a slight cold every now and again but it would usually clear up after a day. Since having my daughter I have been sick twice, she is only 4 months old. Once with a very bad cold that I had for about a week and just recently a stomach bug for four days. I know that breastfeeding helps the baby to build their immune system but does it decrease the mothers? Or is it just coincidence that I have been sick since starting to bf?
7 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoFour month old sleep patterns?
Hi all,
Just wondering if my daughters sleep patterns are normal. Sometimes I feel like she sleeps to much. She goes to bed between 7 - 8pm and wakes up between 7 - 8 am. She sleeps through without waking up for food. She has a nap at about 9:30 - 10am for between 2 and 4 hrs and then has another 1-2 hr nap later in the day. Does this sound right to you? What were/are your child's sleep patterns at 4 months? When she is awake she is very alert and happy and is doing well with her milestones.
Thanks in advance.

3 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoI just gave my baby some water straight from the tap. Will she be OK?
I just gave my 4 month old baby some water to help her get rid of hiccups that were making her really upset. I just gave it to her straight out of the tap because I didn't have time to boil some and then cool it back down again. She only drank about 10ml. Will it have any bad effects on her? It is the first time she has ever drank water as she is breastfed but she seemed to like it.
