  • is it true that some foods have 0 net calories?

i'm on a calorie counting diet and once i've hit maximum calories i was wondering whether eating an apple or any of the 'zero calorie foods' actually won't affect my calorie deficit.

Apples    Apricots    Beetroot    Broccoli    Cauliflower    Celery    Watercress    Cucumber    Garlic    Grapefruit    Green beans    Kale    Leeks    Lemons    Lettuce    Onions    Raspberries    Strawberries    Rutabaga    Watermelon

these are the so-called 'zero calorie foods' that are supposed to have as much calories as your body uses to burn them. can anyone knowledgeable tell me if this is actually true?

  • A couple of questions to women from older generations?

Since I'm in quarantine and can't really interview anyone for my English assignment, it'd greatly help if I got some answers here!

    1. What are some memories that you have of language specific to females? (How women used language & how language was used to refer to them)

    2. To what extent do you feel this has changed in comparison to recent times?

  • If your starting point is the outskirts of Brooklyn, how far would $50 in a taxi by day take you?

What are some places you'd possibly end up if you got in a taxi and told the driver to just keep driving until the fare reach 50$?

  • Touchpad not working while typing?

I have an HP laptop w/Windows 10. Ever since I got it, there have been instances where the touchpad stops working while typing or shortly after typing. In specific instances it works, but most of the time it doesn't - and it's especially annoying in games. I used to be able to play games w/the annoyance of not being able to shoot (click) right after moving (WASD), but now all of a sudden I can't even use my touchpad to change direction while pressing down on the keys (this didn't use to happen).

I've tried minimum Palmtracking and disabling TP Rejection on my Elan Touchpad app, but nothing's working. Any help?

  • What's a genetics exam/course (paid or free) that I can take at a high school (senior) level and have it be recognized by universities?

I want an online course that i can take on genetics that is serious and official enough to be an academic testament of my education in genetics, since my school doesn't offer any such courses and I can't find any nearby.

  • People who remember the 1940s - what was it like?

I realize that, if you're reading this, you probably weren't alive in the 1940s, but maybe you have a grandparent or great-great grandparent who can tell you about how times were like back then. I'm writing a novel set in that era where the main protagonist is a woman. I'm doing online research, obviously, but some firsthand experiences from people who were actually alive back then would be very helpful. Anything at all relating to that era, including the social norms relating to women, would be appreciated!

  • Sony E-reader Not Charging?

I have a Sony PRS-300 Pocket Edition reader that I haven't used or charged for something like 1-2 years. I recently tried to charge it. I plugged it into an AC wall adapter using a USB charger that works on other devices and it didn't charge, then I remembered it never charged that way anyway so I plugged it (using the same USB) to my laptop, because that's how it usually charged. Usually when a reader is really discharged, the charging light (red) turns on but the 'USB connected' screen doesn't show up until after about 40 minutes of charge. That's exactly what happened with my reader, except when the 'USB connected' screen showed up, the charging light turned off. Plus, when I connect my e-reader, my laptop says it doesn't recognize the device + that the device might have malfunctioned. I downloaded Calibre to help recognize the device, didn't work. I tried resetting it using the reset button while it's turned off, still won't work. I held the down and '0' buttons to press '5' and reset all to see if it'd help, but my reader ran out of battery before I could press '5'. What do I do to get it to charge?
