How many "Guido's" live in the United States? And where are do they live? Other than the Jersey Shore.......?
I'm an American, I've lived here for my whole life and I've never seen a Guido until I saw the Jersey Shore show. Where do these people live? Is this what it's like in New Jersey? We have plenty of douchebags on the west coast, but not any guidos - at least from what I've seen.

2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoi got new glasses today and my eyes are off-center, they told me it was normal but is it?
I picked up some new glasses today with a new prescription. Before the lenses were made the optician had me look into a box, at a little light, and recorded measurements. I had done that before for eyeglass fittings but this time I asked what she was measuring and she said "how centered your eyes are". I - apparently falsely - believed that eyes were generally centered, with exception to people with lazy eyes, but the optician told me that it's more unusual for people to have perfectly centered eyes. My question is, what are acceptable levels of misalignment? Are there any resources online with information about this phenomenon? - I already looked and couldn't find what I was looking for. Do these degrees of misalignment change over time? Are there measures to correct this or is it unnecessary? Also, what is the device used to measure this called? I was told but forgot. I measured 28 for the right eye and 31 for the left, now that I've heard this I can see that my right eye points inwards more than my left eye. Even though nobody has ever said anything to me about it, and I've never seen it myself, I feel like it's very noticeable now.
3 AnswersOptical1 decade agoWhat kind of lawyer would I need if I inherited a house 50/50 with a family member and one wants to sell?
I live in the United States. A person that I know has co-inherited a house along with her mother. She wants to sell the house - or at least her half - but her mother doesn't want to sell the house, but she also can't afford to buy out the other half. The person I know can't afford to maintain the house or pay for the taxes and after she inherited the house her mother moved into it with her, which in an even larger problem. Can this person force her mother to sell the whole house on the open market or is she stuck in some kind of real estate limbo, eternally doomed to either live with her mother or pay for taxes and maintenance on a house that she doesn't live in.

5 AnswersPersonal Finance1 decade agoWhat is a beer widget made from? (specifically)?
I'm wondering if anyone knows what type of plastic typical beer widgets are made from. Beer widgets are used to carbonate some beers - Guiness, Young's double stout, etc; they float in the bottle or can. I've taken some of them out of the cans and looked at them but I can't tell what type of plastic (like what plastic code) they're made from. I'm guessing they're made from high-density-poly-ethalene, but it's just a guess. Any ideas?
1 AnswerBeer, Wine & Spirits1 decade agoWhy didn't Katie Holmes play Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight?
Katie Holmes just played Rachel Dawes in Batman Begins and now Maggie Gyllenhaal is playing her. Why is that? I don't think Katie Holmes is a great actress but I really don't like Maggie Gyllenhaal very much. Anyone know why Holmes didn't play the role?

3 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoPolitics, Environmentalism, Christianity, Evolution: How come there is so much discussion on Yahoo Answers?
I mostly stick with the Entertainment and Movies section, but I noticed a particularly stupid post - not stupid just because I disagreed with it mind you - and I decided to venture over to where this particular poster spends most of their time. I started reading through the posts in the Government and Politics section and I've seen some strange trends. It seems to me that there are a lot of crazy fringe-opinion-types propagating their unsubstantiated theories. I saw one post where the poster was trying to link communism with environmentalism. The question was resolved, so I didn't have the opportunity to point out the incredibly obvious fact that the largest communist country in the world is also one of the largest polluters in the world, if not the largest. I understand the appeal from anti-environmentalist nut-jobs is to pollute the net with their uneducated opinions and fallacious arguments. Why is there's such a disparity between political debate on YA and debate in a classroom?
