My car insurance recently expired and I don't have the funds to renew it quite yet. Since the weather has been fair I've been biking to places a lot more instead of borrowing a ride or taking the bus.

I'm not generally a drinker (I've actually never really been drunk before), but when other people are drinking I like to have one beer or something else light. Since I'm still driving with my N license, I can't legally drive with any alcohol in me, not even a drop. This means that if I'm at my older sister's place and they decide to have a casual beer, I can't have any because I have to drive home and can't risk getting pulled over even on a random check.

What I'm wondering is, is it also illegal to ride a bike after consuming alcohol? I mean I'm obviously not going to be biking home totally hammered, but I'm curious to know what the law says.

I read on a toronto blog that it's legal, but I'm not sure if that was the local law or the law in Ontario or whether that applies nation wide. Answers?

So I was just sitting in bed this morning and i started to feel a little nauseous. this has happened before once or twice so i just lay on my side hoping it would help. i was ok for maybe an hour and then it suddenly became much worse and I was worried I was going to throw up so I ran down to the toilet. i sat there for maybe 5 minutes without throwing up but the nausea slowly got worse. after a few minutes i noticed my vision was going kind of wonky and I was feeling lightheaded and really clammy, so I lay down on the bathroom floor in case i was about to faint. after a few seconds on the floor, my nausea and lightheaded-ness was gone, but I still felt very clammy. i checked my pulse periodically and it seemed slower than normal, but still fairly regular. this whole episode happened very suddenly and is very concerning for me. any idea what caused it? I'm starting to feel a little nauseous again so i'm worried it may happen again.

it's been about half and hour since I was bit. The bite started very small but steadily got larger. Now the diameter is just a few millimeters short of a dime, but it seems to have stopped getting bigger. I didn't notice being bit but it felt like there was a thorn or stick stuck in my pant leg that kept rubbing against my thigh. After checking several times for any thorn I noticed the bite. It's not red, it's the same color as the rest of my skin but the pain is really deep. I feel a deep aching pain right around my thigh bone and around the bite. It gets worse when I walk around but it still painful when still. For now the pain is localized to my thigh and I don't have any more symptoms. I'm concerned because black widows and hobo spiders can live around my area though they are uncommon. Does this sound like a poisonous spider bite and should I go to the hospital?

okay so it all started when I got to hang out with this guy I like. after he left I was really happy, I couldn't stop smiling, and that night and the next night we were chatting online and he was flirting with me a lot and it brought about some really intense feelings in me like I've rarely felt before. but after that he kind of started to draw back for some reason. he was still friendly but not flirting anymore. this is when I started to go numb. The first night i couldn't sleep because his sudden change in attitude worried me so much. when he was offline i would feel sick when i thought about him. slowly the really intense butterflies i'd felt from when i hung out with him started to fade away until there was no evidence i had feelings for him anymore except for the sickly feeling. now he's going to be leaving and i won't even be able to talk to him online very much, and i feel like i should feel really sad but i just feel nothing. and it's not just feelings about him. i can't get myself to feel any strong emotions. i can't even feel emotional over my loss of emotion. i'm normally a really emotional person and i always embrace my emotions, positive or negative. this sudden loss in emotion is really alarming for me, even though i don't feel alarmed. i don't even feel peaceful or calm or neutral, it's just this absence of emotion. what's happening to me and why and how can I change it?

I really want to make playthrough videos of video games (PC games) but i can't find a decent piece of screen capture software anywhere! I've downloaded and tried a bunch of them and they all have problems. usually either they lag my computer until i can't play anything or the video is such bad quality it's not worth it. it's not that my computer isn't powerful enough. it's brand new and good enough to play all of the latest cpu eating games, there should be plenty of cpu to run one of these programs and my games. and i know there has to be a good program somewhere because let's play videos are everywhere, and are very good quality (in comparison to the videos these programs give me).

these are some of the ones (that i can remember) that I've tried so far

camstudio: not bad when i adjusted the quality but adjusting the quality was difficult and required a lot of guess and check.

jing: didn't allow me to change the quality at all.

webinaria: worked but the video was strangely sped up making my voice over not match what was on screen

ultrascreenrecorder: was a nightmare to install, and wouldn't even record the screen, just my voice. also a nightmare to uninstall.

i don't have money to buy some expensive program, especially if it works like these did. isn't there a decent program somewhere? i'm getting really frustrated

I like drawing and lots of people have told me i'm good at it. I'm thinking about it for a career, but it may just end up being a hobby. I've always wanted a tablet as I have a horrible time scanning my artwork if I want to put it online. I'm also trying to get into animation and drawing each frame with a mouse is really tedious and hard. I definitely feel like it would be useful but I'm worried I may buy it and then not really use it very often. I don't really draw very often unless i'm taking art classes and then am required to do it. For people who draw as a hobby, did you start drawing more after you bought a tablet or is my tablet just going to gather dust?

For the past about week and a half I've had heartburn almost every day. The pain is mostly in my chest where they say to lay your hand to check your heartbeat. It intensifies when I breath in. It's very painful in cases when I can't control my breathing such as in a sneeze. A medical website said I should go to the doctor right away if I have heartburn more than twice a week, but I know I can be a bit of hypochondriac. Should I go to a doctor about this or am I overreacting?

Say you wanted to create a ring of satellites orbiting the earth. or in other words, they would all be orbiting at the same distance from the earth, at the same speed, going in the same direction, so that they would follow the same path without crashing into each other? Is this kind of precision possible?

so at my school we have a grad banquet instead of prom, but it's basically the same, dressing up and getting your hair done etc. i can't really decide how i want my hair done. my hair is a darker blonde, somewhere between dirty blonde and honey blonde, and it's very long and healthy, there's lot i can do with it. my face is very round and soft, sort of like the pictures you see of a 'swiss miss' except i'm dutch. my dress is strapless and our grad theme is kind of Victorian i was thinking a half-updo but i don't know much else beyond that. what kinds of hairstyles would suit someone like me?

in english we're doing personal essays, meaning it's supposed to relate to us personally, but our teacher told us we also had to do research and have at least 2 in text citations. my topic is life lessons i've learned so far and i've pretty much finished writing the essay and i haven't put in even one in-text citation because i can't find anything i can cite. i've found some good quotes but they're things people said, they're not in a book or an internet article. i'm only supposed to quote something that's been published. help me out? some of the life lessons i've put in the essay are: being different isn't a bad thing, it's better to try and fail than to never have tried at all, learn to take constructive criticism, don't give up on what's important to you, sometimes things have to get worse before they can get better, learning moderation and how to balance your life is one of the keys to being happy.

i'm making a costume creeper from minecraft, to scale, but i've run into a problem. i need to be able to see out of the costume but i don't want to just have a big hole in it. i figure i can put the eye holes in the mouth since the head is really big to account for the size of the torso. i was thinking it'd be great if i could use something like a one-way mirror, but not made of glass because it'd be too heavy, and black on the translucent/opaque side instead of a mirror. is this possible?

i'm making a cover for my school yearbook, and i used a stock photo from someone on deviant art. on their profile they tell people to ask permission before using outside of deviant art, so i left a comment on the image i used, on their stock profile AND on their main profile. it's been a week and they still haven't replied. I really need to get going on this cover. I was hoping to finish before Christmas. I've been searching for the perfect photo to use in my cover for WEEKS and this one was the only one i was really satisfied with. is there any way i can use it without waiting for their permission, or is there another way i can contact them? please help!

sometimes during the day, often when i'm walking or listening to someone speak, i'll sort of lose consciousness except that i don't black out and i don't fall over. i don't get dizzy it's just that for a split second i can't sense anything. i can still see but i don't comprehend anything that i'm seeing. it's like i'm seeing with my eyes but not my brain. my memory also doesn't record anything during these episodes and time doesn't pass. it's like when a movie skips a second. one minute everything is normal and then another minute i realized i'm feeling slightly dazed and my sense is returning. it almost seems as if my subconscious starts to control my body instead of my consciousness. when i ask people what if i seemed dazed and they tell me i seemed to be acting completely normal. i'm not too concerned over it since so far nothing really alarming has happened but it's really bizarre. can someone give me an explanation or tell me if something is wrong?

i've really never had a social life. i've had a few close friends and once in awhile we sleep over at each others houses, and occasionally we'll arrange to go out to a movie together or something, but that's pretty much it. i was okay with this for awhile but i'm in gr.12 and i kind of want to see what i've been missing. i've been doing everything people say you should do, i'm trying to make friends, i have lots of group activities (drama, clubs, youth group) but i still never get invited to anything. i'm tired of being the only one not invited to the party, and i want a boyfriend. my school is k-12 and most years your class is supposed to sing to you on your birthday. well, nearly every single year they've forgotten, or were late. what can i do to improve my social life?

i often have sinus infections. once at least every 2-3 months. is it considered chronic if you have them often or if you have a sinus infection for an abnormally long period of time?

...which would you choose? and which of those animal's traits would you be taking? example: i would be spliced with that salamander that has algae in it so that it can photosynthesize. the traits i'd take: ability to photosynthesize, ability to breathe in water or air.

if you wanted to take a nap but didn't feel like sleeping in your bed, where would you nap? let's assume the couch in the living room is occupied or it's too noisy to sleep in there.
