  • Diagnose me?

Do any of the following indicate that something wrong with me?

    - I can stay up very late without getting tired, but I'm always tired when I wake up.

    - I often lie in bed for hours before I can fall asleep

-I often forget things over short periods of time. I'll set something down, and not remember where it is in two minutes, but when I see it I remember putting it there.

    - I often feel slow, lazy, stupid, and hopeless, but sometimes I am quick, creative, and industrious.

    - I almost never laugh anymore. Even if I hear or see something that I know is hysterically funny I don't laugh. I often hide my face so that everyone thinks I'm laughing when I'm only hiding the fact that I'm not.

    - I sometimes think that I have a heightened sense of empathy.

    - I've wondered if I'm autistic before. I don't know why, but I just wonder...

    - I can hear very high pitched noises. I can hear some wall plugs make a consistent noise when they are plugged in.

    I will provide requested information.

  • Question about LEDs?

If I power the LEDs with AC voltage instead of DC does that mean I just need to use twice as many AC volts as I would DC, or will it not work at all?

  • Humor check.?

I don't very often write or say the kind of risky things that are meant to be funny. What I mean is, I try to say and write things that can be taken as funny, but if they aren't won't create an awkward silence of unfunniness if you know what I mean. Because I am taking this rare risk, I need opinions on how funny my "This I believe essay is". Would it be risky to read it to a group aloud?

  • I need some advice on this puzzling predicament.?

This is a sort of real-life riddle that I'm trying to solve.

Someone on yahoo answers is considering selling me a projector. I need a way that I can give him his money and make sure he sends me the projector. I don't want him to have to send me the projector and have only my word that he will be paid for it. At the same time, I don't want to send him money and not know if he's a crook who won't send the projector. Not to mention it's risky to send money in the mail.

The only Idea I've had is for him to post it on e-bay with a "buy-now" price that we've agreed upon, and me be waiting at the designated time to immediately click "buy-now" as soon as it is posted. The problem with this is that he cannot use credit cards...

    Anyone got any ideas?

    yes it is really happening

  • Anyone want proof-read something for me? Improvement suggestions also helpful?

This is my application for an AP english class.

    Nicholas Gydé

    AP application

I wish to be accepted into the AP 11 English course because I want the opportunity to learn more efficiently. AP 11’s purpose is to provide a better learning atmosphere for students who are willing to work hard enough to earn it; a learning environment that is so approachable it is almost exceeding in its freedom of students in group discussion. I have taken Honors English classes for the last two years, and I have not regretted my decision to do so. I have always completed all my assigned work to the best of my ability and will continue to do so if accepted into AP composition. The fact that I can obtain college credit by passing an exam at the end of the year is a contributing factor to my desire to join the class. I can also benefit by being able to put AP 11 on college and scholarship applications.

Accepted or not, I promise to put forth my best effort as I always have. I would prefer it, however

  • Buying a projector.?

Where is the cheapest possible place I can get either a phantiq projector or one of those torpedo projectors. I've heard of people getting the torpedo projector for $75 which is PERFECT for my price range. If you don't know, any place to buy a cheap projector would be helpful.

  • It may take a few minutes to look at, but will you tell me what you think of this?

I am 15 years old, and I need to decide what general career area I'm going dedicate my life to relatively soon. I know it's a bit soon, but I might be graduating a year early.

This question is posted in the following categories:

    -Science and Mathematics - general

    -Polls and Surveys

I am considering a career as a musical composer, a writer/poet, or some type of mathematical career either as an engineer or some other job for NASA.

What I need is an opinion on how much potential I have for these careers.

Below is a link to my Yahoo360 page which contains a musical work, two poems, and a short descriptive writing passage. Please observe as many as you are willing, and give me your opinion on how much potential I have in those areas as a 15 year old. As for the math oriented careers, I have no way of demonstrating my capabilities unless someone posts a math problem for me to solve. I'm in Algebra 2. I got the highest state-test score my teacher has seen.

  • Can you interpret the meaning of this sonnet?

    An Idle Day.

When I awake from heavy sleep and sigh,

I feel a weighted slowness, unaware

Of where I am and how I’ve gotten there,

And watch the sun’s approach, naïve and shy.

Then all the things around me rise ere long.

The sun has brightened, welcoming them out,

And Nature’s children jump and dart about,

While aging blue-jays celebrate with song.

I watch with pleasure as these creatures run.

At leisure I walk towards no place at all,

As I distract my thoughts with robin’s call,

Too occupied to catch the fading sun.

Then, find myself again in bed withdrawn,

I wonder at how quickly day has gone.

    ****

Best answer to the first person who can tell me the underlying meaning (it's not difficult)

I wrote this poem. I am 15 years old, and experimenting with creating various types of art. Tell me what you think, and if you want to see and/or comment on other things I've made, look here:
