does anyone know about the child abandonment laws in ohio? I know the time period is 1 year, but is it no contact at all from the parent or no contact with the child from said parent?

My 5 month old will only go to sleep is we hold him, then when we put him in his crib he wakes up and will only stay asleep if held or he's really tired. Is there a way to get him to self soothe without letting him cry all night. I usually end up letting him sleep with me so I can get some sleep. But am not getting enough sleep so I'm looking for a way to help him learn to self soothe

Ok so I have a beagle who was sepose to be fixed, her papers from the shelter say appears to be fixed.....she got out about 2 -2 1/2 months ago....She is looking quite big in her lower tummy, she has always had an athletic build. she has been sleeping a lot lately and has torn up a few pillows and nests in it. I'm callin the vet tomorrow to get her in to be checked. But I was wondering if there was a way for me to tell?

I know that they use to say that once you reached a certian time in your pregnancy that you shouldnt swim anymore. I was wondering if anyone knows when that is or if they even do that anymore. I'm 32 wks pregnant and want to go swimming tomorrow but dont know if i'm not allowed to swim anymore.

I am 31 wks and noticed that my stomach has already started to drop. I am measuring 36 wks so It was a noticable that the baby has started to drop. Its not extremely low yet just droped down some. And we're sure that i'm only 31 weeks though. That is the baby is measuring at, I was bigger b4 i got pregnant and thats why I'm measuring so big. Thanks

My boyfriend and I just found out yesterday that we're having a little boy. We just cant come up with any good names. We have the middle name picked out. It is going to be Edward, after his late grandfather. We just cant pick a first name that goes good with it. Can you guys help give us some suggestions on first names please. Thanks

My dog is not feeling good. When she woke up she wouldnt open her eyes. Then she through up, it was a bright yellow color. Has anyone ever had this happen to thier dog? What can I do to help her? And please dont say take her to the vet. I'm out of town and dont really have the money to take her to the vet as she has had to go 2 times in the last month for an injured foot and we had our roommate move out so all the money we have right now has to go tords paying bills so we dont loose our appartment or have the utilies cut off.

My dog gets car sick really bad. I usually dont let her eat if i know i'm taking her in the car. i stoped at teh pet store and they recamended travel calm for her. has anyone ever used this and in your opinion does it work?

Ok so I got a beagle mix a few months ago. She is 5 yrs old. She came all the way to ohio from WV. I'm almost certain she is trained to hunt birds. Is there any way I can test to see if she really is?

She is trained to walk off the leash, only goes after birds, never cats, rodents or any other animals. She wasnt barking or being agressive or anything, she just charges birds like she was trained as a flusher. She is always nose to the ground when outside and isnt interested in any toy. When in the house she is just laying or sitting there, but is really active outside.

Do you think she is trained to hunt

I am almost 18 wks and already feeling the baby moving and kicking, my question is when will my fiance be able to feel the baby kicking from the outside? He is very excited to feel the baby move.

When I woke up this morning my dog was limping, I looked at her paw and can see anything wrong with it. And I dont feel any broken bones. I pushed on each of her pads just to see if I could find out were it was sore at and its her first toe on her front paw. Should I take her to the vet to have it checked or should I just wait a few days to see if it gets better?

I am 14/16 wks pregnant, docs arent sure cause measurements are saying 14 while dates are saying 16. Anyways, I am going to have my first ultrasound tuesday. Does anyone have any advise that might help at the first ultrasound? My biggest consern is how they expect a pregnant woman to drink 36 oz of water and not pee before you get there. When sould I start drinking the water? Does it hurt your stomach to have an ultrasound? If so more or less than having the docs poke around at your stomach? Thanks so much.

My fiance and I dont seem to agree on names for our baby. We did ok with the boys name except how it should be spelled. The name we picked is Caleb Edward. I want to spell it Calub. He says no.

We cant agree at all on girls names. I want Katlyn, not sure of middle name, he said apsolutly not. He wants Kayla Lynn. I said that is ok with one slight change. Kayla is to common a name I wanted to change it to Makayla. He doesnt want that eather. I dont know what to do. If anyone has went through this could you tell me how you finally decided on a name?

We have to put our 5 yr. old beagle mix. She had to be locked in a crate when we leave her home alone because she destroys the house. She doenst like being left alone. Which isnt very long and not very often. When we get back she has peed in the crate, even if we take her out and she goes to the bathroom before we leave. We are having to rebather her everytime I have to go to the store or my doctors, whick is once a month because im pregnant. Is there anyway I can get her to stop going to the bathroom in the crate?
